Patrick Winter clenched his fists, his knuckles whitening as he fought to keep his anger in check. He didn't want to appear arrogant in front of the assembled crowd, especially since the event was being broadcast live on a national TV station.
Later that night, Patrick planned to give Arthur a taste of his own medicine and make him look foolish in front of the audience. After all, he had more money than Arthur Gardner could ever dream of - there was no comparison.
A few minutes later, all the cameras were completely set up, and the host of the event, Max, stepped up onto the stage and greeted with thunderous applause from the entire audience.
"Good evening, everyone!" Max shouted enthusiastically, eliciting an instant excitement from the crowd.
"I'm your host for the night, Max," Max began, a note of excitement evident in his voice.
"It's an honor for us to have you all here tonight. Tonight we have a special show for our young entrepreneurs, who will be presenting their business ideas to our esteemed panel of judges and potential investors. I'm sure we are all just as eager as I am to see what these bright minds have to offer! So without further ado, let's get started! Go ahead, show us what you've got!"
Max then joined in the applause, generating an even more lively atmosphere in the studio. When the applause died down, he returned to the mic with enthusiasm still evident. "Alright, our first participant is a young man who is very passionate about the IT field."
"Whoooo....."
Amidst the audience, a hoot sounded out, followed by Max's laughter.
"What?! Why are you responding that way?" he asked. "You never know, we might have another Elon Musk in our midst tonight. Let's give a warm welcome to Fan Tian!"
A young man in his twenties, wearing a blue shirt and sporting a geeky look, stepped onto the stage.
Instantly, a collective "huuu" sound came from the audience.
"Tch, another Asian guy," some of them muttered.
"Yes, why are there so many Asians trying to make a buck off our country? I hate them," one person said.
"Yep, they should be kicked out of this event right away," another chimed in.
"Or even out of this country," a third person added.
Fan Tian nervously stood in the middle of the stage, bowing his head in respect to the judges. "Good evening, honorable judges," he said, his voice trembling slightly.
Patrick was the first to speak. "Do you have any business ideas, Asian guy?" he asked.
Cash then interjected with a laugh. “Do you want to open a pirated goods business?” he joked. “Hahahaha, just kidding. I'm sure you have a very sophisticated idea behind that geeky face of yours.”
"Ahh…," Patrick chirped again. "That's right, he looks like a kid—his body is quite small. How old are you, kid?"
"24, Mr. Winter," Fan Tian responded, his voice quivering.
