Arthur quickly pressed the green button, which immediately drew the attention of Patrick, Cash, the audience in the studio, and the viewers on television.
"I believe Mr. Fan Tian's product is truly revolutionary. He has devoted a great deal of time and effort to developing his Artificial Intelligence, and I'm confident that it will be incredibly impactful when used to its full potential. I also agree with Fan Tian's funding proposal. Oh, I didn't hear how many shares you are offering for the 10 billion dollar fund. How much is that?"
Fan Tian was speechless upon hearing Arthur's words. He swallowed hard, nodded quickly, and then tried to explain himself.
“Mr. Gardner, I'm not asking for any shares. You can keep 100% of the shares, as long as I can finish this project. All I need is a monthly salary. I'm satisfied.” He still couldn't believe what was happening. Someone had granted his wish to continue the project he loved so much.
"Alright then," Arthur said, "we can continue discussing this business backstage, and you don't need to worry that I won't take such a large share. I will still give you a special place, as a recognition of your hard work."
Max, the host, walked up to Fan Tian with an excited expression on his face. “Come on!” he exclaimed, lifting his hands and beckoning the audience to join the applause.
“Don't you see that our first participant has achieved his first success and is one step closer to making his business a reality? Let's give a big round of support to Mr. Fan Tian!”
The audience immediately responded with loud cheers and applause, many standing up in enthusiasm. They shared in Fan Tian's joy and celebrated his success with him.
"Can you believe it? I heard that this is the biggest funding ever given to this event. Am I dreaming?" asked one of the audience.
"It's possible that this is just a ploy," his companion replied. "It's possible that Arthur Gardner only accepted the man's offer to increase his own popularity."
"The committee must have done their due diligence to ensure that all the funds from these potential investors are legit. If it turns out that this is all just a lie, then Gardner has chosen a path of no return by doing something so foolish."
"I don't like that Asian guy, but I'm still glad that his business proposal was approved."
Arthur then smiled and nodded as he looked at Fan Tian, who had entered rooted in place, his face stiff and shocked. Fan Tian shook his head, still unable to believe the events unfolding before him.
“Thank you so much Mr. Arthur Gardner.” Fan Tian berkata dengan gugup.
Max, who was standing beside Fan Tian, patted him on the shoulder and attempted to reassure him that what he was experiencing was indeed real. “Come on, Fan Tian,” he said. “You don't need to worry. I'm sure you'll be much better once this is all over. I'm really hoping to see success from the business you've been working so hard on.”
Meanwhile, Patrick Winter was grinding his teeth in frustration, trying to contain his anger at Arthur for drawing everyone's attention to himself with his ostentatious display of wealth towards an invention that had no real value or future.
"Arthur Gardner, I must say I'm rather impressed with your daring choice," he murmured, sarcasm dripping from his words.
“Tsk!” Cash clicked his tongue and rolled his eyes in annoyance. “You clearly don't understand the advancements of the world - Artificial Intelligence technology is just an expensive technology that won't bring about any real progress for humans. I hope you won't regret this decision before you get any real benefit from it.”
Arthur smiled in response to Patrick and Cash's words, nodding slowly with a calm face.
"Thank you for the advice, seniors," he said. "I hope to learn a lot from you. I don't have any other choice but to move forward; I can't bear to embarrass myself by failing. I only hope I don't give up before I get the chance to show you how great Mr. Fan Tian's creation is. I promise you'll be the first to witness its greatness."
However, due to the need to cover his daughter's medical expenses, the funds he'd generated from the business were running out, preventing him from expanding any further.
He desperately hoped that, through this presentation, he would be able to secure the necessary funding to make his business even bigger, as well as complete his daughter's treatment.
“Ahm… judges,” Robert began, walking over to them and presenting his burger on the table in front of them, “I brought a burger from my own brand. I hope you don't mind giving it a try.” He stood there patiently, awaiting the judges' response.
Patrick glanced at the burger Robert presented with a look of distaste. He was unaccustomed to eating fast food since he only ate the best dishes his chef could prepare. Nevertheless, Patrick remained silent, not even attempting to sample Robert's burger.
"What makes this burger so special?" he asked skeptically. "Do you really think it can compete with the well-known brands? I don't see anything special about its appearance."
Cash Todd reached for the burger, examining it skeptical before placing it back on the table.
"I'm with Mr. Winter on this one," he declared. "A food business like this is a dime a dozen. There's no real potential here. I don't want to waste my time on something that won't yield a profit. Investing in KFC or McDonald's is a better option than investing in your small idea. Hahaha…" he added, chuckling.
Robert just smiled and nodded resignedly in response to the two judges. Before he could take back his burger, Arthur grabbed it, opened it, and took a large bite.
Robert was aware that Arthur had previously granted the business proposal of the first participant, but he was well aware that the food business was not a promising venture, especially if he had to compete with large brands first.
Nonetheless, what he heard from Arthur afterwards made him shake his head in disbelief. "What did you say again Mr. Gardner?" he asked, astonished.
