Avalyn
Nik and I stood on the terrace of the house as we looked at the peaceful ocean. The moon casted a beautiful reflection of itself on the dark sea. Cold winds blew and I zipped up my jacket for more warmth.
The waves slowly increased and I caught the sight of a boat. My breath hitched. They are here.
"The remaining group of fifty?enemies are going to attack our house. They will come through the sea on rowing boats so no noise is made to alert anybody. Those fifty men will be divided into groups of two. The first group will have thirty men and the second group will have twenty men." Nikolai said.
"You both," Nikolai addressed Max and Natalia, "along Gonzalez and his most loyal and trusted men will come in the second group. The house has three automated snipers on top of it and can shoot three bullets at a time before it takes a break of fifteen seconds to reload and?it?shoots?again. Those thirty men will?be?a suicide squad. They will go to the operating room and turn off the power of the entire house.?This will cause the?snipers to turn off along with the?lights?in?the entire house, which will be the signal. The mind- link between these thirty people and Gonzalez and his troupe will be shut because the great Alpha doesn't want to hear the screams of a measly suicide squad." Nikolai told Max who nodded.
Slowly, more boats came into vision. I counted a total of five boats. Which meant each boat had six men on them. Once all of them turned around the corner so that they were out of the line of sight of anyone from the other coast, I raised my hands.
"Wait." Nikolai shook his head as he stared straight ahead. No, he?glared?straight ahead.
The boats were coming nearer to us. A couple of more minutes and they will reach the shore. Once they were a couple of feet away from the shore, Nik said lowly, "now", his voice instantly getting lost in the wind.
"When the boats of the first group reach the shore, Phase Three will began and they will never make it past it." Nikolai explained. "Avalyn and I will be the ones executing it. Once the boats are about to reach the shore, Ava will light them on fire along with the men on it. Their ashes will be mixed in the water and with the sand and no proof of what happened will remain. Only one boat will make it and the snipers will shoot them all once their feet touches the sand. This will make it look more natural and ward off suspicion."
I raised my hands, palms towards them and imagined the boats burning. I imagined the fire licking the wooden boats and engulfing the entire boat and the people in it along with it.
"Avalyn?" Nikolai hissed.
My eyes snapped open and I saw the boats almost on the shore. My eyes widened and I tried harder. Why can't I do it now? I burned down that beach house without even meaning to and now I can't set fire to these boats when I desperately want to!
"Concentrate, Ava." Nikolai whispered.
I nodded and concentrated harder. I squeezed my eyes shut and pressured my brain and my powers to work.
"Any time now, Avalyn."
My eyes snapped open and I saw the men getting of their boat and running towards the house. The three snipers shot down a total of nine men each but the rest kept running.
Oh my goddess.
"Calm down Ava." Master caught my hand.
"Set fire to the men. See the fire lighting the men." A couple of men instantly caught fire. "See the fire consume their entire body and killing them."
Ear piercing screams of men on fire rose in the air. I saw the fire consume their entire being before they disintegrated into ashes and became one with the sand.
I focused harder of lighting the ones who didn't catch fire too.
"Stop." Master ordered and I ceased. "It's not working fast enough. Take out your gun and start shooting."
As ordered, I removed a gun from the holster and took my aim before shooting. Nikolai grabbed a gun from my belt and started shooting. His aim was much better than mine. These men were still at a considerable distance but they were quickly getting here.
I was only able to kill four people while all of Nik's aims met their mark and he ended up killing six people. We were out of bullets and seven people, who had spotted us were running towards us.
"Let's go kill them." Nik said and then jumped. I followed and landed on the ground, in a crouched position before I jumped to my feet and ran towards them.
Two men changed their original direction and shifted into their wolves as they charged at me.
A smirk formed on my face at their arrogance. Men always tend to underestimate women.
I brought both my hands up and prayed to goddess for this to work. I may have issues with burning things, and people but I sure as hell didn't have any problems in these basic things.
They both froze and and without slowing my speed I reached them I plunged my thumbs into a wolf's eyes, and squeezed his eyes out and twisted my arms, snapping his head. He fell limp at my feet.
Nik growled and I saw that he had killed two wolves and fighting off three. I evened the odds by freezing two in their place. Then, I focused on the first wolf and started into his terrified eyes as I stabbed my claws into his chest and searched for his heard. "Never underestimate a female." I caught his heart and yanked it out before I threw it on the ground.
I turned around to see Nik looking at me proudly. "That's my girl."
I grinned.
