The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 135

"You've found your true love already, haven't you?"

A bitter smile curled my lips, my voice barely audible as I continued, "Joshua knows how to care for you. He loves you deeply. I've seen with my own eyes just how sweet the two of you are together."

I paused, then said, "You could divorce me and start a new life with him. Why are you wasting all your energy fighting me?"

Abigail gritted her teeth, her face twisting with resentment as she snapped, "What are you trying to say, Samuel?"

I met her gaze, my voice steady but heavy with meaning. "If you're worried about people talking, I'll disappear completely. I'll step aside and let Joshua take my place."

Every word carried the weight of my soul.

Abigail stared at me in shock. "You… What are you up to now?"

"Abigail," I said, my voice unwavering. "The person you care about most now is Joshua. You don't love me anymore. You're holding on to me just to see me suffer, aren't you?"

Taking a deep breath, I pressed on, my voice tinged with despair as I said, "This kind of entanglement is pointless. Let us all move on—for Joshua, for you, and for me."

Abigail stood still, stunned. Then, her eyes narrowed as she scrutinized me, searching for any sign of insincerity.

When her gaze caught the tears brimming in my eyes, she suddenly laughed coldly. Shaking her head, she sneered.

"Samuel, don't play these games with me. Men like you are the worst. You married me for my money but pretended to be deeply in love. You made me fall for you, only to kick me away!"

Her voice grew sharper, each word laced with venom. Her darkened gaze bored into me as she let out a bitter laugh.

"Don't be ridiculous, Samuel. You're my husband, and you always will be. How could I ever let you go? We're bound to this twisted love forever. You know I'll never let you go."

I stared at her. Stunned. She felt like a stranger to me. How could she say something so heartless?

Despair tightened its grip on me. Her intentions were painfully clear. She would never let me go.
