The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 202

"Samuel, I didn't think you'd turn out to be such a menace, on top of being a clingy pain in the ass!"

"Yeah. First, you decided to chase after Abigail, and now, you're openly bullying Joshua? What the hell is wrong with you?"

"Abigail's life really went downhill the moment she crossed paths with you!"

Hearing their insults and mockery, I couldn't help but laugh to myself.

Were they seriously saying that Abigail's life took a turn for the worse because she met me?

Maybe they were right. If she hadn't met me, she might've still been that carefree, happy girl without worrying. Her family wouldn't have gone bankrupt, and her parents wouldn't have passed away.

And we… we wouldn't have ended up here.

But no matter what I said or did at this point, it wouldn't change anything.

Ignoring their taunts and jeers, I steadily walked through the crowd. Even after I'd gotten far enough away, I could still hear their voices ringing in my ears.

When I got home, I headed straight to the bathroom to clean off the mess from earlier. After a long shower, I walked out and was surprised to find Abigail sitting on the couch. She was staring at me, her eyes cold.

It caught me off guard. I glanced at the clock—it was only 6:00 pm.

She usually didn't come home this early. Most nights, she wouldn't walk through the door until after 9:00 pm.

Something was definitely up.

"You're back early tonight, huh?" I asked, trying to sound casual.

Without a word, she turned her head toward me and gestured with her finger, motioning for me to come over. Her tone was calm, but there was an edge to it.

"Come and take a seat. We need to talk."

For some reason, a sinking feeling settled in my chest. The serious look on her face told me that this wasn't just a casual chat.
