The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 206

The answer was no.

Abigail and I had been that couple back in college—the one everyone had admired. Our relationship was the stuff of envy, and we were the talk of the campus.

Abigail was gorgeous and smart, the kind of girl who turned heads wherever she went. She was the school's golden girl.

And me? I didn't do too bad myself. I'd gotten my fair share of love letters and confessions from other girls.

But back then, none of that had mattered. My eyes were only ever on Abigail. I loved her deeply—so deeply that no one else ever stood a chance.

I smiled faintly and looked at Hanson.

"The truth is, Abigail has always been the one I've loved the most," I said softly. "Even with all the pain she had caused me, if I had the chance to go back and do it all over again, I'd still choose her. I'll never regret being with her."

Hearing my response, Hanson's expression grew somber. He shook his head and let out a long sigh. "You're so stubborn, Samuel. Too stubborn for your own good."

I knew what he meant. He wasn't angry at me—he was just disappointed and frustrated that I couldn't see what he saw.

In his eyes, I was someone with so much potential. I was someone who had sacrificed a promising career to settle down with Abigail and build a life with her.

Abigail's struggles back then hadn't been her fault. I'd decided to sacrifice my own dreams to support her. That was my chosen path, and I'd always felt that it was my responsibility to see it through.

I smiled gently at Hanson, who thought I deserved better. "It's not Abigail's fault, Mr. Jigman," I said quietly.

"Not her fault?" Hanson, who was usually so calm, looked at me like I'd just said the most ridiculous thing in the world. He shook his head in disbelief. "Samuel, are you so beaten down by all of this that you've forgotten how to stand up for yourself?"
