Joshua looked me up and down, his eyes full of mockery and challenge.
"Well, if it isn't the company's star songwriter," he said, sneering. "So, those rotten eggs and lettuce yesterday didn't knock any sense into you, huh? How dare you still walk around here, acting all high and mighty while bullying me? What's it going to take to teach you a real lesson?"
I couldn't help but laugh at how absurd he sounded.
"Bullying you?" I repeated, shaking my head in disbelief. "Joshua, do you even hear yourself? Don't you think that's just a little ridiculous?"
Joshua's expression turned icy, his disdain for me practically dripping off him.
"Oh, I don't know, Samuel. Why don't you ask yourself what you've done?"
I let out a dry laugh, my annoyance bubbling just beneath the surface. I didn't even know how to respond to someone as delusional as him.
"Joshua, if you think that me not saying hello to you during work hours counts as workplace bullying, then I don't know what to say. Your sense of humor is almost as pathetic as your accusations."
"Pathetic? Oh, now that's rich," he said, raising an eyebrow.
"We're not friends," I said coolly, my tone steady. "We've never been, and we're not about to start now."
Joshua's expression shifted to something more calculated, and he smirked. "Fine. Then, watch your back, Samuel. This is far from over. You've got more trouble coming your way than you can even imagine."
I was done with him. "Sure. Whatever you say," I muttered, brushing past him.
