The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 284

I couldn't tell how much of what Abigail said was true and how much was a lie. All I knew was that if I didn't comply, she had countless ways to make my life difficult.

Seeing my silence, she became even more tender. She wrapped her arms tightly around my waist, her small face rubbing against my chest.

"Samuel, I'm willing to accept Lana for your sake. Whether you want to treat her as your sister or bring her to live with us, I'll support you. From now on, whatever you want to do, I'll stand by you."

Her words caught me completely off guard. I never thought she'd say something like this.

Abigail had always hated the smell of hospitals and avoided any interaction with Kayla. Although Kayla once saved her life, she never spared her so much a glance.

And now, she claimed she was willing to accept Lara, someone completely unrelated to her?

"W-Why are you doing this?" I asked, unable to wrap my head around her motive.

Abigail suddenly looked at me seriously and smiled softly. "Samuel, I've told you, you've always been in my heart. I don't want a divorce because I still love you.

"All those men I was seeing? That was just to get your attention. Think about it, Samuel. Haven't all the things I've done lately been to make you notice me more?"

Her words stunned me into silence.

I stared at her, trying to discern which parts were genuine and which were deceitful. Could she really have done all that just to get my attention?

Seeing my expression, Abigail chuckled softly and gently held my hand.

"Samuel, there are plenty of men pursuing me right now. If I wanted, I could snap my fingers, and countless men would come running. But I still like you. You're the one I can't ever forget. That's just how pathetic I am."
