The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 355

"I didn't mean it. I was just worried about your health…"

When Abigail saw my growing anger, she waved her hands in an attempt to explain.

But I refused to listen to anything she had to say.

I could only shake my head and sigh, resigning myself to helplessness. "Forget it. Do whatever you want. After all, I've already lost myself, haven't I? I'm nothing more than a puppet living at your whim, with no right to live my own life."

I sat calmly on the bed and slowly closed my eyes.

Abigail stood silently at the door, watching me for what felt like an eternity before she finally closed the door and left the guest room.

I had no energy left. I collapsed onto the bed, forcing myself to rest.

I had no idea how much time had passed before I faintly heard a knock at the door.

It was Abigail. She stood outside, cautiously calling out, "Samuel, are you awake?"

I had no intention of answering her and chose silence as a form of resistance.

The incessant knocking continued, each knock pounding away at my already fragile composure.

My patience wore thin. Finally, I shouted toward the door, "You have the key, don't you? Stop pretending! You can go anywhere in this house without my permission. The door isn't even locked, so you can just come in."

I was blunt, and Abigail got the message, loud and clear.

But Abigail stood at the door for a long time without coming in. She seemed to recognize the impropriety of her actions from the day before. So, she quietly turned and walked away.
