Ethan, brimming with disdain, even made a deliberate gesture to emphasize his point.
I couldn't help but chuckle. "What exactly has he been bossing you around to do?"
Ethan threw his hands up in utter exasperation. "You have no idea, Samuel. Recently, he entered some kind of creative competition, just the preliminary round, and supposedly won some kind of award. Then he started putting on airs, deliberately showing off as if he's the next big thing in songwriting!
"I mean, come on! A guy with no talent, no skill, and no sense of ethics, what kind of decent music does he think he can create?"
Once Ethan started venting about Joshua, it was as if a dam had burst. He kept ranting non-stop.
I smiled and waved a hand dismissively. "Is he really that unbearable to you?"
"Of course he is! It's impossible not to find him infuriating." Ethan was so agitated he looked ready to explode.
With a heavy sigh, he shook his head and said, "Honestly, I've never met someone so blindly confident. Sometimes I seriously wonder, where does he get the nerve to say the things he says?"
Joshua's unshakable confidence stemmed from the undeniable fact that someone was backing him. And who that someone was didn't take much guessing.
Abigail had poured all the best resources she could muster into him. She was determined to pave his way to becoming some kind of superstar.
I didn't care. It didn't matter to me.
