To see someone as handsome as Aubrey standing at her door was quite surprising for Navier.
She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow and ask, "Why did President Spencer come? Is there something you need?"
Aubrey furrowed his brows slightly and replied, "I came to thank you."
He took out a document and continued, "You helped Genesis Group secure the cooperation with Mr. Anderson. Genesis Group will give you 20% of the profits from this collaboration. This is the contract, and it will take effect after you sign it."
Navier looked down at the contract, barely showing any change in her expression. Aubrey's way of doing things was always the same-he liked to use money to solve problems.
She gently pushed the contract back. "President Spencer, there's no need for that. I approached Mr. Anderson on behalf of Genesis Group, neither for you nor for Genesis Group. It was solely for Young Master Ripley. I don't want any of these rewards."
After speaking, she walked past Aubrey with light steps and left.
Behind her, Aubrey's eyes became solemn as he watched her figure recede. The paper in his hand crumpled a little as he clenched it.
In the past, when she showed deep affection towards him, he found it hard to get used to.
But now, when she treated him coldly and distantly, he couldn't get used to it either.
"Why would Aubrey be standing at Navier's door? What does he mean?" Cathy was helped back by Robert from a distance.
Robert's tender gaze fell on her, but she was focused on Aubrey.
His eyes trembled slightly.
"This Navier is so cunning!" Robert complained, full of disgust towards Navier. "She did so much just to attract Aubrey's attention! And Aubrey actually fell for it!"
"Can you stop making baseless assumptions?" William followed behind them and felt annoyed by Robert's unfounded guesses.
"Miss Armstrong helped us out of good intentions, and Aubrey went to find her just to express gratitude, nothing more."
"Good intentions my foot!" Robert refused to believe it. "I think she still has feelings for Aubrey. She's just playing hard to get!"
"This woman is really crafty and manipulative! Aubrey, if you keep going like this, you'll eventually fall into her trap! You'll regret it for a lifetime!"
"Stop looking down on Navier. She's not someone we ordinary people can climb up to." William stopped the discussion, not wanting to stay with the two any longer, and entered his room.
Robert didn't like hearing William defend Navier and started growling, "What's he trying to say? Who can't climb up to Navier? Does he even have a brain?"
"Navier is impressive, okay? She's the famous racer 'Thunder Strike'!" Cathy said with an annoyed tone.
"Drift King? That Drift King?" Robert was taken aback by Cathy's words.
He also enjoyed racing, mainly because Cathy liked it. In his heart, Cathy was the supreme goddess, and he wanted to share common interests with her.
He was skilled in racing and naturally knew about Thunder Strike's existence. But she rarely showed up, and he didn't go last time, so he didn't know about Navier's remarkable identity.
"Are you kidding me?"
"Do you think I'm that bored?" Cathy had little patience when talking to Robert alone and was feeling quite annoyed. She furrowed her brows, showing her annoyance.
Robert's mouth gaped open. "This is unbelievable."
He looked like he was greatly impressed by Navier, which only irritated Cathy more.
She told him about the incident at the racing competition.
"What? Navier actually concealed her identity and humiliated you? This Navier thinks she's impressive just because she's Thunder Strike? She's shameless!" Robert became furious again.
How could his goddess tolerate being humiliated like this?
"Don't worry, Cathy. I'll talk to the racing association and expose this matter. I'll make sure she's banned from racing forever!"
"Don't do this. It's not worth it for such a trivial matter." Cathy appeared unconcerned. "Actually, what I'm most curious about now is her relationship with the boss of Starlight Media."
"Although it was infuriating how she ruined my relationship with Aubrey back then, I don't want to dwell on those things anymore. If she can really get along well with the boss of Starlight Media, then everyone will be happy," Cathy said.
"But what if she has no connection with the boss of Starlight Media, and all her previous actions were just to deceive everyone? In that case..." Robert's tone turned doubtful.
"This Navier is so cunning. There's nothing she wouldn't do," Robert continued to badmouth her. "But seriously, with her behavior, could she even catch the eye of the boss of Starlight Media? I bet she orchestrated this whole act herself!"
"It's hard to say."
"Don't worry. I'll take care of this matter and investigate. I want to see if this boss of Starlight Media has any relationship with her!" Robert said confidently, patting his chest.
Cathy was satisfied with Robert's determination. She had accumulated a lot of resentment towards Navier for a long time. However, she had never done anything too extreme because she was worried about the attitude of the boss of Starlight Media.
If the truth were confirmed and all those so-called connections were fabricated by Navier, Robert would take care of her without her having to say a word!
"You go and investigate first," Cathy urged him, sounding a bit impatient.
Robert was concerned about her, "What about you?"
"I still have Aubrey, don't I?" Cathy replied as she elegantly walked towards Aubrey.
Emotions flickered in Robert's eyes, but in the end, he gave in and left.
"Aubrey," Cathy approached Aubrey, her voice gentle.
Aubrey looked up with a faint gaze.
Seeing him like this, Cathy felt a little aggrieved, but she didn't show too much of it. She said, "I'm sorry. I thought I had convinced Mr. Anderson, but I didn't expect... I'm really sorry."
"You didn't let me down, but you should apologize to Navier," Aubrey said.
Cathy's eyes tightened suddenly, and she became more aggrieved. "What do you mean, Aubrey? From the beginning to the end, it wasn't me who said bad things about Navier. Why should I apologize to her?"
"Just because she helped you secure this project? Aubrey, how could you treat me like this?" Her eyes became teary, and tears welled up in her eyes.
Aubrey looked at the pitiful Cathy but couldn't summon any feelings of compassion.
"Some things you don't say doesn't mean I don't know. Think about what you said to Jack," he said.
"I... What can I say?" Cathy stammered. Her face turned pale, and her body couldn't stop trembling.
"Did Navier complain to you? Her words can't be trusted," Cathy continued.
She pondered for a moment. A person like Jack would never gossip. It must be Navier causing trouble.
An unprecedented sense of insecurity surged within Cathy, making her reluctant to let him leave. However, if she insisted, it would only make Aubrey dislike her even more...
In her panic, Cathy suddenly had an idea. She immediately covered her eyes with her hands, showing a painful expression. "Aubrey, my eyes feel uncomfortable, and I'm experiencing blackouts. It's so distressing."
Aubrey had already started to walk away, but upon hearing her complaint about her eyes, he quickly turned back and supported her.
"Don't worry, I'm here. Let me take you back to your room first." His voice became tense, and he stooped down to carry her, striding towards the room.
Cathy hugged his waist, burying her face in his chest. Fortunately, she was quick-witted. Her eyes would become the ultimate weapon for her whole life. No matter what mistake she made in the future, she could use this incident to make him surrender.
Navier returned to Celesterra the next morning. As soon as she got off the plane, she spotted Fredrica's fiery figure waiting for her. Fredrica didn't care about other people and directly gave her a French-style hug, calling out, "Darling, I missed you so much."
"Don't be so cheesy." Navier quickly dodged her embrace and glanced around. She couldn't let anyone capture such an image; otherwise, others might think she and Fredrica had some secretive relationship.
Well, others weren't important.
Lucas was terrifying.
The special products sent by Jack were sent through checked baggage and wouldn't arrive so quickly, so Navier only had a small suitcase with her. She walked side by side with Fredrica.
Fredrica had a hot figure and bold dressing style, while Navier was slender with an elegant fashion sense. Both their movements and poise were captivating, attracting the attention of many people.
They were used to this and continued chatting as they walked.
In the middle of their conversation, Fredrica suddenly snapped her fingers and said, "Navier, do you know what a significant secret I discovered recently?"
She deliberately kept her words vague, trying to pique Navier's interest.
Navier cooperated and looked over, saying, "Tell me."
Fredrica leaned closer, lowering her voice, "Remember the day I took you to the eye clinic? I saw Spencer Scum and Cathy."
"I remember," Navier replied nonchalantly. Recently, she had seen those two quite a few times and felt nauseous about it.
Fredrica looked even more mysterious. "Would you believe it? Cathy is blind in one eye!"
"Blind in one eye?" Fredrica's words did surprise Navier. She hadn't heard about this.
"Cathy appears on TV every day. Do you believe she's blind in one eye? I don't believe it!" Fredrica pointed at her own sharp eyes, saying, "Even without a medical examination, with just my eyes, I can tell she's not blind! It's impossible!"
"What? Are you going to report her? But she never mentioned any problem with her eyes in public," Navier responded with little interest.
"That's the problem!" Fredrica clapped her hands and continued, "Think about it. Cathy always portrays herself as a perfect goddess, sometimes even showing some minor injuries to gain fans' sympathy. She often fabricates fake inspirational stories to move her fans to tears."
"Now, one of her eyes is supposedly blind, and she's not talking about it at all. Do you think that's normal?"
Navier had never been interested in discussing Cathy. Naturally, she wouldn't delve into it further. But she knew Fredrica wasn't one to make baseless speculations. So, she looked at her and asked, "So...?"
"So, I have a bold guess. Cathy's eye is probably not blind at all. When she went to the eye clinic, she said she was blind to Aubrey alone! I can guarantee that no one else knows about this except Aubrey!"
"And what does that mean?"
"This is a big problem!" Fredrica's expression turned serious, and she abruptly held Navier's hand...
