The Moon and The Ocean novel Chapter 44

OCEAN'S POV:-

I heard Vixen roaring loudly inside me. That woke me up. I sat up abruptly on the bed. I was catching my breath and Moon also woke up. He sat up and started rubbing my back. He then filled a glass with cold water and handed me the glass. I downed it's content in one go. My throat was dry. The cold water helped me a bit.

Moon: Is everything okay, Ocean?

He asked me in a worried tone and I looked at him.

Ocean: I think something bad has happened to Alpha Zeus. I don't know what but something is wrong. I can feel it. Because of Vixen, I can feel it.

I replied in a panicked tone and Moon shook his head.

Moon: I told him not to do anything stupid because of us. But he is a stubborn ass. He never listens.

He said in an angry tone. He hopped off of the bed and in a blink of an eye, he was in his clothes. I also crawled out of the bed and wore my PJs along with my nightgown.

Once done, he grabbed my hand and we both stepped out of our bedroom. He took me straight to the living room. I was not surprised at all when I saw Mr and Mrs Kart in the living room. Mrs Kart was sobbing quietly and Mr Kart was trying hard to contact someone. I was sure he was trying to contact Alpha Zeus.

I went to Moon's ma and hugged her. I rubbed her back as she cried her heart out. Moon went to Mr Kart and hugged him. Mr Kart patted his back but I could say he felt better after seeing Moon.

Maria: Why did he have to do that? Please tell me he will be back home soon. Please tell me he is unharmed. Oh God, I can't live without my Zeus.

Maria was crying and whispering her prayers in my ear. I could not do anything to ease her pain. I just kept rubbing her back.

Vixen growled inside my chest as my eyes glowed like stars. I hopped off of the couch and Vixen was ready to leash out any minute. It was not a full moon. It was all because I could smell some strange scents in our territory. My mate was already by my side as we always fought side by side. We were not just mates in bed, but also in the battlefield.

We all heard a loud boom and suddenly, a bright light blinded us all. We all shut our eyes but Vixen was ready for the fight. We all covered our ears as we heard ear piercing cries of the people who were gathered around the mansion. The bright light subsided and the cries went silent. The doorbell rang and Moon looked at us all.

I grabbed his hand and we both went to the door. To my surprise, Vixen was calm inside me. That made me sure that whoever was at the door, would not be dangerous. Moon looked at me and I nodded my head with a small smile. Signalling him that everything was fine. He opened the door and I saw a woman standing.

Vivian: I was not expecting you to be here so early. What brought you here, Hellenora?

My mother asked in a sarcastic tone as she made her way towards the woman that was standing in front of us.
