The Night I Let Go novel Chapter 25

Zachary's hand trembled as he reached out to take the phone and scroll through the most recent posts.

"I don't need you to thank me for telling you this, but the least you can do is drink with me until we're satisfied, right? Come on. Let's drink together!"

Ellen kept pouring drinks for Zachary and clinking glasses with him. They kept knocking back drinks the whole time without eating the food on the table.

After an hour, Zachary felt a splitting headache. However, he hadn't passed out from drinking yet.

The two had already finished off a case of beer.

The floor was littered with empty bottles, yet Zachary had no intention of stopping.

Ellen asked the owner to bring over another case of beer, and they continued drinking.

Perhaps the alcohol was getting into him, as Zachary started shedding tears as he drank.

"I'm such an idiot. She's been lying to me from the very beginning…"

After muttering, he downed the beer in his glass in one gulp.

"You really are an idiot. You've been someone's stand-in for five years without even realizing it. I was telling the truth back then, but you thought I was just stirring up trouble!" Ellen nodded in agreement.

"I'm sorry for misunderstanding you! I'll make it up to you with this drink!"

Zachary gave a bitter smile and gulped down another glass of beer.

Ellen opposed, "One glass isn't enough! I told you the truth, yet you betrayed me, which caused me to endure a serious scolding from Wendy! It'll take at least three glasses of beer for me to forgive you!"

"Fine. Three glasses it is!"

Zachary wanted to let loose, so he kept drinking.

After three glasses of beer, his head felt even foggier.
