Even if Wendy were to agree to the divorce, it would only be after she had resolved the company's issues and strengthened it.
She wanted Zachary to see how exceptional she was, so he would beg her to stay in the marriage. She wanted to make him regret asking for a divorce and leaving her.
…
Two days passed quickly.
That afternoon, Zachary stopped by the CEO's office. Although it was almost the end of the workday, Anya was still busy handling some paperwork.
When Zachary entered her room, she paused and looked up at him curiously.
Zachary smiled and said, "I'm attending a class reunion tonight, so I'll be home a bit late."
"How late?" Anya raised an elegant brow.
Zachary replied, "I'm not exactly sure."
"Be back before midnight. Otherwise, I'm locking the front door, and you'll be sleeping on the streets."
With that, she returned to her work.
Zachary rubbed his nose, feeling a little helpless.
Did she say that he'd be sleeping on the streets? There was no way that would happen. If she didn't let him in, he could always get a hotel room.
However, he didn't say that out loud as he feared that Anya might explode.
As he left the CEO's office, he couldn't help but feel puzzled. He was technically the boss, while Anya was just the CEO of one of his mother's invested companies in Yelbric.
