The Night I Let Go novel Chapter 46

Zachary stared at Ethan as though he was looking at a fool.

His gaze seemed to be saying that Ethan had no right to comment about his matter.

Ethan looked slightly sulky. He had expected Zachary to argue with him, but he hadn't expected him to be this indifferent. Zachary even seemed like he couldn't care less to entertain him.

It made Ethan feel like a clown trying to please his audience.

Ethan glared furiously at Zachary before turning to look at Anya. "Pretty, this man hasn't divorced and has hooked up with his wife's best friend. He doesn't deserve you."

Anya was shocked. "Does he have a wife?"

She looked at Zachary in disbelief.

Zachary rolled his eyes and thought, "Keep going with your act."

Seeing that Anya didn't know about all this, Ethan was instantly pleased. Then, he briefly talked about Zachary being a boy toy who leeched off his wife for five years and also hooked up with Ellen.

Of course, he had exaggerated when he told the story about Zachary.

Anya listened to him and turned pale. She gently bit her lower lip and looked as though she had been deceived by a jerk.

She said, "Zachary, I can't believe this is the kind of person you are!"

Ethan smiled. "Pretty, it's not too late for you to know now. A man like him…"

Anya pressed on and asked, "After everything you've said, do you have proof? I don't think he's like what you've said."

"Proof?" Ethan sneered. First, he looked at Zachary, who pretended to look calm. Then, he turned around and pointed at Wendy.

"She is Wendy Jennings, Zachary's current wife. You can ask the two of them if you don't trust me. You can confront them!"

Anya asked confusedly, "Is she Zachary's wife? Why is she alone with you then?"

Ethan panicked for a second. "We… We're colleagues. It's the weekend, so we're out shopping and having a meal together."

"Since you know your colleague has a husband, why are you eating alone with her? Aren't you afraid her husband might feel jealous if he finds out? Isn't it common sense for someone to keep a distance from a married woman?" Anya questioned.

A look of disdain flashed across Anya's eyes. She continued to ask, "Did you do this on purpose? Did you deliberately flirt with a married woman to make her husband jealous and ruin their relationship… so that you can take over his position?"
