The Night I Let Go novel Chapter 80

"That won't be necessary. The two of us will do it."

Anya's response surprised Zachary somewhat. She was worried that he would misunderstand her meaning. So, she explained, "My friend doesn't love to talk about love outside working hours. She won't be happy to see Molly there."

"Well, then. Why are we going at all?" Zachary was even more confused now.

Anya brushed a strand of hair from her temple and giggled gently. "Why, we're going to have dinner with her and catch up on old times, of course. I will also bring up Molly during the meal. Do you think she can reject me if I'm the one who took the initiative to talk about it?"

"Alright. Thanks for your help." Zachary heard what she said and didn't make further comments.

Afternoon came, and he gathered a couple of marketing staff. He wanted them to go to the Economic Development Zone with him. However, all of them said they had work to finish. So, they collectively asked him to find someone else.

At that moment, one of the marketing staff who sat by the window rose to his feet and said with a smile, "All of us are quite busy with work. Mr. Lloyd. You're welcome to go there by yourself if you can't wait for us."

Zachary didn't know who this marketing staff was, but he did remember him. After all, the latter was the one who gave Shawn ideas on the first floor.

Zachary frowned slightly, but he didn't get angry. Once he saw that not a single one of them was willing to follow him, he realized that they were maliciously pinpointing them.

Although Zachary could've thrown his weight around and made them follow him by force, he didn't do anything of the sort. If these fellows were waiting to make fun of him, then he would just have to prove them wrong with results.

Just as well, too. He could establish his intimidating authority and let them see what he was made of through this project.

At the thought of it, Zachary didn't waste any time with them anymore. Instead, he turned around and got ready to leave.

At that moment, a young intern suddenly raised his hand and asked, "D-Do you mind if I follow you, Mr. Lloyd?"
