The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret novel Chapter 10

Nathaniel glared at her, and Freya held her breath.

Not only was she afraid that she would be doomed by slapping him, she was terrified that he would attempt to kiss her.

The atmosphere between them became heavy; Freya was horrified, and she was breathing heavily.

Suddenly, Freya's phone rang, breaking the silence between them.

Nathaniel let go of her hand, and he pushed her away in disgust.

She hurriedly turned around and fled toward the door, but he stopped her.

"Did I allow you to go?" He snorted.

She muttered, "Mr. Morgan, I'll pick up the phone call outside to avoid disturbing you here."

"Answer it here!" He was inexplicably irritated and annoyed with his desire, and he might be exploding anytime soon.

She did not dare to move her feet; she knew the consequences of disobeying him.

She fumbled her phone out and saw an unfamiliar number.

Her call logs only had three numbers, which were Peyton's, her landlord's, and the doctor in charge of her mother.

She looked at the grumpy Nathaniel, and she answered the call.

A nice man's voice sounded, and it sounded like he was smiling.

"Freya, it's me!"

Freya's hand trembled upon hearing his voice.

The background sounded noisy, so he had to speak loudly. Usually, the people around her could not hear who was on the phone.

But the private room was in total silence now; Nathaniel could clearly hear his laughter over the other end of the phone.

She subconsciously hung up the phone.

She did not know where Jacob got her phone number, but she knew that it was not a smart move to answer it in front of Nathaniel.

Freya did not know what to say to Jacob.

He sat there and played with the lighter that was on top of the table. His face darkened.

Her phone rang again, but she did not pick it up.

But he persistently called her, and it seemed like he would not stop until she picked up the call.

"Answer it!" Nathaniel frowned.

She forced herself to pick up the phone.

"Put it on speaker!" Nathaniel was giving her orders.

Freya was sweating cold sweat, and she put it on speaker.

Nathaniel chuckled and said pitifully, "Freya, why are you doing this to me?"

"I know you dislike me, but not to the extent of not picking up my call, right?"

"Don't be angry with me; I found your phone number from your hospital record."

"I'm in Hidalgo now for a business meeting." He was very talkative, even though she remained silent.

"Freya, there's good news for you. I managed to contact the most experienced plastic surgeon in Hidalgo for you; he can help you with the scars on your face."

"Oh right, I've also found a doctor for your hand."

Jacob's words triggered Nathaniel; he abruptly stood up and walked toward Freya.

She was intimidated by his height.

He snatched the phone from her hand; Jacob was still promising Freya all sorts of things.

He threw the phone on the ground, and Jacob's voice finally stopped. He stepped on the phone hard; the phone was scattered.

Freya's heart was hurting seeing her phone spoiled; Payton bought this phone for her. It was not very expensive, but one thousand dollars was still money.

And, one thousand dollars was a great amount to her at the moment.

She squatted down and wanted to pick up her phone; she hoped that it was still functional, or maybe she could bring it in for repair.

Her wrist was grabbed forcefully by him, and he picked her up as if she weighed nothing.

"Freya, you're such a b*tch!" He gritted his teeth and glared at her.
