Chapter 20 Life Back in Prison 

Abigail glared at Nathaniel’s expressionless face, and she clenched her fists at her sides out of anxiety. 

Nathaniel ignored her question and patted her on the shoulder. 

“You should rest earlier!” He walked into the dark. 

Abigail felt weak in her knees, and she felt terrible. 

But she did not believe that Freya could be married into the Morgan family. The Gomez family and the Morgan family were totally not on good terms now, so Freya could not possibly be with him completely. 

She was the one who had the chance, not Freya. 

Three days later, Freya was transferred from the intensive care unit to the general ward. 

Because Nathaniel and Jacob were there, Freya was being admitted to the best single ward in the hospital. 

She still could not get down from the bed. 

Peyton was sitting at the side, helping her to peel an apple and an egg. 

Freya once again felt the warmth of the sunlight; she felt like her life was extremely overwhelming and tiring. 

“I’ve called the police for you; the driver who caused the accident fled. 

Peyton was peeling the apple as she talked to Freya. There isn’t any security camera in that place; it was a blind spot!” 

“And the licence plate of the pickup truck was fake; the police are trying to investigate it.” 

“Don’t you overthink; just take care of yourself.” 

Freya moved her body slightly, and she accidentally reinjured her wound; it was painful. 

She endured her pain and grabbed Peyton’s hand. 

“Don’t move, be careful of the knife that’s hurting you. Do you want to drink some water or… Peyton did not expect Freya to be clingy after she woke up: it was as if she was afraid of being abandoned. 

“Peyton, Freya said in a serious tone while looking, please be careful during your work.” 

Peyton stopped smiling, and she stuttered, “Fay, you… 

Freya took a deep breath, and she said, “The car accident was not coincidental; someone wanted to kill me, and I’m afraid they might go after you too.” 

“Peyton, you’re my best friend. but I’m afraid….”

“Oh, could it be that bitchy Abigail tried to harm you? I can’t think of anyone else who would do it to 

you. 

Freya was stunned, and she slowly leaned on the bed. Peyton could not tell what she was thinking at the 

moment. 

What can I do if Abigail was really behind it? 

Abigail was the apple of Nathaniel’s eye three years ago: he did not believe me back then, so why will he believe me 

now? 

She whispered. “I was careful when I was walking on the sidewalk. The truck was rushing towards me at a weird angle, and there wasn’t any security camera; the culprit fled, and there was no proof.”
