Chapter 236 Return to Newport Villa

“Ms. Freya!” Taylor stopped himself as he frantically stared at Freya. He knew that Nathaniel would murder him if the impact disfigured Freya further. 

“I’m fine. I was just looking for a schedule. Gosh, Koen was careless. He misplaced it and I had to search everywhere for it.” Freya complained as she walked out of Nathaniel’s office. Suddenly, she paused and asked. “You have Nathaniel’s pin too, Taylor?” 

Taylor had his suspicions, but was unable to find anything amiss, so he got out and locked the door again. 

Freya chuckled and said, “Wow, Nathaniel sure trusts you a lot.” 

“Yeah,” replied Taylor. 

Freya did not want to interact any further with Taylor, so she returned to her office as she hoped that Taylor would not follow her back. 

Apparently, he was bored out of his own mind, but the only job he was told to do was keep Freya safe. He found that task very annoying. He knew how important and complicated the task Nathaniel had to do since he even brought Ozzy along. He was the only one left behind. He would have a much easier time with his job if Freya behaved, but he felt as if she was testing him. He just could not find any leverage to use against her. 

Meanwhile, Freya had returned to her office. Since she was clutching onto the schedule too tightly, she had crumpled the paper up. She was only able to breathe a sigh of relief after a good long while. Suddenly, she grabbed her bag and walked out of her office. Although she was Nathaniel’s assistant, she felt more like his maid. She did not have to abide by the working hours and could leave whenever she wanted to. She used to feel guilty about leaving earlier, but since she owned ten percent of the company’s shares, no one dared to judge her for it. 

Freya left her office just as Taylor had zoned out, so he rushed over to him. It did not take long for them to leave the building and just as he was about to make a right turn. Freya said, “Take me to Newport Villa, Taylor.” 

This stunned Taylor as he decided to obey Freya’s command. Nathaniel had told him to keep Freya safe before he left. He told him to make sure to keep her away from danger, especially when she nearly drowned at the pool back then. However, Nathaniel never told him to limit Freya’s freedom, so he was forced to listen to her. Besides, she was his boss at the moment. 

Soon, they arrived at Newport Villa. Since Ms. Lovett and Higgins were sent to the Ocean Villa, the only people left there were a few janitors. 

The villa seemed empty, but Freya did not enter. Instead, she headed toward her old family home.
