The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret novel Chapter 295

“Are you trying to play games with me?” Nathaniel’s face darkened as he looked at Frey.

“I’ve been serious from the beginning, Frey. I didn’t kill Jacob, though I’d like to. I wouldn’t mind taking down his father too!”

Frey’s face showed surprise at his revelation.

Nathaniel sneered, “So, in your eyes, am I just someone who deserves punishment?”

“My mindset has changed. I used to hate you just as much as you hated me. I don’t want us to continue hurting each other.”

“Falling in love with you is fate, Frey. You must feel something for me too, right?”

Frey’s gaze remained cold, and she stayed silent.

Seeing her expression, Nathaniel felt a pang of unease. Was it so hard for her to overcome her reservations?

He took a deep breath and continued, “Frey, I just want to save you. Even with my injuries, you’ll need to look after me for a few days.”

Frey pressed her lips together.

Did he really need someone to serve him? Surely, Mr. Nathaniel could have anyone attend to him with a snap of his fingers.

Still, seeing his burns, she couldn’t bring herself to send him away.

“How many days will you stay?” Frey managed to ask, her voice tinged with frustration.

Nathaniel chuckled. He rarely smiled, but when he did, it had a certain charm. He stood up and walked to Frey, leaning in to speak softly, “I’ll shower first. This issue gives me a headache. I don’t want to talk about it now.”
