Chapter 40 I Liked You Seven Years Ago 

She was in a mess; she knew that she was not compatible. 

And she had lost hope in a love relationship; she had loved passionately before, but it ended up being the biggest joke of her life. 

After having their meals, the three of them went to the seaside to take a walk. 

Peyton deliberately distanced herself from them: Jacob was walking side by side with Freya. He dragged her arm and made her stop beside the fence. 

“The scenery is nice here. I remember we used to be best buddies, but we’ve never taken a photo together before.” 

“C’mon, let’s take a selfie!” 

She was stunned, and she stood right next to him. Suddenly, he raised his hand and pulled her into his arms and held her tightly. 

He pointed the camera at the two of them and said, “Smile, Freya!” 

Freya forced an unnatural smile, whereas Jacob smiled brightly. He pressed the camera button. 

He then lowered his head and put a frame around the photo. He muttered, “Freya, can I chase after you?” 

Her eyes were widening. 

He lowered his head and did not dare to look at her; he mumbled, “You hate Nathaniel, and you hate me too, right?”
