The Queen Returns—And She's Unforgiving novel Chapter 164

Whenever someone was in love, they would always think of their significant other first.

Looking at Lucas with a half-smile, Blake gleamed with amusement. "Mr. Grant, I expect to be at your wedding when the time comes."

Lucas' eyes lifted slightly, but he showed no particular reaction.

Beside them, Mason laughed lightly, not letting the conversation fall flat. "Of course!"

Evelyn stood up. She could no longer bear to watch this happy, harmonious scene.

Justine followed her.

Evelyn checked the time—it would be another half hour before the dinner wrapped up. She had only that much time to find Fergus.

"Justy, I'll check the guest list," Evelyn suggested. "Can you check the other side?"

"Sure." Justine nodded in agreement.

Evelyn approached the organizers, asking whether they could reveal whether a guest named Fergus was attending tonight.

However, they politely refused, explaining that the guest list was confidential.

Evelyn understood their position.

It was simple, really. The Clark family had hosted tonight's event, and Blake, Jessica's future husband, held significant sway. It would probably be much easier if she could get the guest list from him.

She hesitated for a moment. Thinking of Leonard's critical condition, she ultimately returned to the main venue.

She texted Blake, asking, "Can you come to the side room for a moment?"

He didn't reply, so Evelyn went over to wait by herself.

She rubbed her aching temples. After receiving radiation therapy today, she had thrown up twice. Her immune system was lowered, and she was starting to catch a cold.

She didn't have to wait long before Blake finally arrived.

He stood there casually with one hand in his pocket and a cigarette dangling from his lips. His gaze wasn't restrained. In fact, it roamed over her with a deliberate, almost aggressive intensity.
