The Queen Returns—And She's Unforgiving novel Chapter 176

Lucas was probably too busy looking after his future mother-in-law, Millie, to bother replying to Evelyn's message even if he had seen it.

But they had already set a date to go to the courthouse to finalize their divorce. Evelyn knew that retrieving the ring that belonged to the Reed family after his and Tiffany's marriage certificate was issued would be much more difficult.

She no longer wanted to be entangled with Lucas. If he refused to return the ring, she would sue him.

Evelyn contacted Justine and asked her to help find a good lawyer. She planned to go to the courthouse on Monday with the lawyer in tow.

It was better if they could reach an agreement, but if they couldn't, she was prepared for a legal battle. She would get her divorce, and she would also claim the Reed family's heirloom.

Justine was thrilled to hear that Evelyn was going to finalize the divorce and said, "Getting a divorce after Valentine's Day, that's a first! You're really changing the game!"

Evelyn didn't respond, knowing full well that if she explained everything to Justine, her fiery personality would never let the matter rest easily.

Justine, in a good mood, added, "You've made it through! Tonight, I'll treat you to a meal to celebrate. How about that?"

Evelyn, feeling a rare sense of relaxation, replied, "Okay."

That Sunday, Maggie, who was at the marital home, called Evelyn.

"Mrs. Grant, yesterday, Mr. Pine sent over a large box of items, saying it was for you. I opened it and saw many new articles of men's clothing. Should I wash them, or would you prefer to come back and iron them?"

Evelyn furrowed her brows. She hadn't expected this. "What clothes?"

"Mr. Pine said these were gifts you sent to Mr. Grant. They've been kept in his office for a while, but Mr. Grant didn't want them taking up space, so he had them sent back. I believe he wants you to handle them."

Evelyn's mind cleared a little. She had indeed asked Michael to bring things to Lucas before. It made sense now why she hadn't seen him using any of them. They had been left untouched in his office.

But now, it didn't concern her anymore.

"You can throw them away," Evelyn replied calmly.
