After parking the car at the hospital, Jason glanced at Evelyn.

She dozed off for a bit, but even in her sleep, her brows were drawn tight. It was as if she was burdened by something in her dreams.

He froze for a moment and did not wake her up right away.

Evelyn did not fall into a deep sleep and woke up shortly after.

She took a look at the time. "Thank you," she said with a distant expression.

She opened the door and stepped out.

Jason nodded and watched her enter the hospital.

When Evelyn returned with the medication, she was surprised that his car was still there.

Jason rolled down the car window and explained, "I canceled the rest of my schedule. Figured I might as well drive you back to the hotel."

He had considered getting out to open the door for her, but it would probably only make her uncomfortable. So he held back.

Evelyn was puzzled for a second, but seeing how he had waited for her, turning him down again would seem unnecessary.

She got in and thanked him quietly.

Jason gave a faint smile. "No problem. Fasten your seat belt and take a nap if you're tired. I'll wake you up when we're there."

Evelyn nodded but did not fall asleep. She and Jason did not have much to talk about either, so she kept herself busy, organizing the notes on her phone.
