Peter chuckled, patting his stomach. "Lucas is assembling an elite team for Arrowpoint Solutions, and with him leading, who wouldn't be on board? Ms. Moore... She's a lucky one!"
Evelyn raised her eyes slightly, her expression still composed.
Sebastian frowned, clearly bothered by the word "lucky". His concern for Evelyn was evident.
Tiffany's "luck" seemed like nothing more than feeding off Evelyn's misfortune. To the outside world, it almost felt like a silent mockery of Evelyn. What a "love story" that the people were praising.
Evelyn, however, didn't seem particularly affected.
Yesterday, when she spoke to Lucas on the phone, he was still at the hospital. By that evening, he was already accompanying Tiffany on a business trip.
So, when he had asked, "Do you have time to come by the hospital?", it seemed he had already made up his mind that she wouldn't go. Even if she did, it seemed he wouldn't care enough to reschedule and would rather go off with Tiffany. It almost felt like deliberate neglect.
None of that mattered in the grand scheme of things. What was important was that Lucas' actions were becoming increasingly aggressive. Not only was he poaching talent from Flying Seal Group, but he was also recruiting from the top tech expo in the country.
Clearly, he had made up his mind to recruit both domestically and internationally, ensuring he would have no shortage of talent. But still, he decided to target Flying Seal Group, sticking a knife in their back.
It was completely intentional.
Peter escorted them to the lobby before returning to his work.
Sebastian lowered his head and sarcastically remarked, "Lucas' heart must be made of something else. After three years of marriage, the divorce didn't faze him one bit—no pain, no remorse. And he's taking Tiffany on a trip under the guise of a business trip. He sure knows how to enjoy himself."
Even with his injuries, Lucas still made sure to handle everything for Tiffany, providing her with full security. Meanwhile, he didn't give a damn about Evelyn, leaving her to fight her battles alone.
"I'm hungry," Evelyn interjected, not wanting to continue discussing Lucas. "Let's go eat, and then we'll finalize the plans for the new energy project."
