Evelyn saw Jason's arranged shuttle pull up and didn't outright decline him.
"Sure," she said, stepping into the vehicle first.
Jason watched her board, then glanced at his phone. After a moment's thought, he chose not to sit beside her but instead took a seat in the row behind.
He knew Evelyn valued her personal space, and he didn't want to make her uncomfortable.
Evelyn figured the ride to the main venue would take a few minutes. She turned back to Jason and asked, "Can I ask if Mr. Miller has started at the hospital yet?"
Jason hadn't expected her to strike up a conversation.
He paused for a few seconds, cleared his throat, and nodded. "He should be there by now. Next time you visit Mr. Reed, you might run into him."
Evelyn nodded thoughtfully.
She planned to carve out some time in the next couple of days to stop by the hospital. If she could catch Harry, maybe they could discuss collaborating on a treatment plan.
The two fell silent again. The quiet stretched until they reached their destination.
Evelyn stepped off the shuttle. Just as she was about to head inside, Jason called out from behind. "Ms. Reed, hold on a second."
She turned around, only to see a staff member approach while carrying a bouquet.
Jason took the bouquet and walked toward her. His handsome face carried a genuine expression. "Congratulations on Flying Seal Group's successful launch. This is… from the resort. Here's wishing Flying Seal Group thrives."
Evelyn glanced at the bouquet he offered, a striking arrangement of blue tulips. The bouquet was meticulously curated and eye-catching.
She was puzzled. "Does the resort give these to everyone?"
TechNova Group had booked out the entire resort. Was sending flowers part of the banquet arrangements?
