Winslet was startled. “Maddie, don’t get me wrong. We were looking for you last night. All that matters is that you’re all right. Why didn’t you answer our calls! We were so worried.” 

Winslet looked worried as if she was truly concerned. 

“Oh‘ Where did you go to look for me? Did you go to bed to find me?” 

“Madeline, don’t be so disgusting. Do you think anyone is as shameless as you? Did you spend the night with that man? How shameless!” Benjamin frowned. 

Madeline did not bother to explain. “Yes, yes, you’re right.” 

“The same goes for you. You’ve changed your clothes. Can you not treat me like a fool!” 

Madeline smiled mockingly. 

Winslet tugged at her clothes, deliberately revealing some red marks on her neck. “It’s a misunderstanding… 

Benjamin defended Winslet. I don’t want to waste my time explaining things to you. Winnie and I are innocent. Who are you to tell us what to do?” 

Madeline faked a smile and shrugged. “Of course. Whatever drama you’re trying to put on has nothing to do with me“ 

Winslet thought Madeline was going to cry. However, her reaction now was somewhat lackluster. 

The three of them entered the house together. 

Layla was waiting in the living room. 

When Winslet came back, Layla immediately breathed a sigh of relief. “Winnie. I thought something happened when I realized you were not around this morning.

Winslet sighed quickly. “Mom, don’t blame Maddie. All that matters is that she’s back 

She frowned and hesitated. “I–It’s just that the man who spent the night with Maddie last night… Maddie, maybe you should just tell Mom the truth. Don’t let the man fool you” 

“What? Spent the night with a man?” Layla’s face was as dark as charcoal. She thought, “We’re now right in front of Benjamin. Doesn’t that mean she was cheating on someone!” 

The Moore family was rich and powerful with assets of more than tens of millions of dollars 

Compared to their assets worth millions of dollars, they were nobody. 

Not only did Madeline not cherish the engagement, but also caused trouble. 

“Isn’t she being a disgrace to this family?” wondered Layla.. 

Winnie’s reputation was going to be tarnished in the future too 

“Madeline, why are you so shameless Can’t you control yourself?” 

“Mr. Moore, calm down. I look into this, I guess there was a misunderstanding- 

Benjamin raised his hand “Mrs. Larson, I won’t blame the Larson family for this. Madeline did this of her own volton, However, we can accept mach a promiscuous woman into the family, I hope you understand.” 

Chapter 10 

Layla’s heart skipped a beat as she instantly felt upset that she was about to lose such a brilliant son–in–law. The ache she felt was indescribable. 

‘Mr. Moure 

1 only have two conditions. Firstly, cancel the engagement. Secondly…” 

Benjamin looked at Madeline and said, “You cheated first. When you break off the engagement, I want you to apologize to the Moore family in public and admit that you’ve behaved indecently. This way, others won’t think it’s our fault.” 

Madeline sucered. 

She thought, “Admit that 1 behaved indecently? My reputation will be ruined.” 

She looked at Benjamin as she thought, “He’s the one who behaved indecently. How dare he… 

“Mr. Moore, you’re really… more strict with others.” 

Benjamin was indifferent. After last night, he knew exactly what he wanted. 

Madeline used to be obedient to him, which was indeed great. Besides, his family was more satisfied with Madeline’s status as the Larson family’s biological daughter. 

It was why they agreed to the arranged marriage. 

Besides, Benjamin had to admit that Madeline was indeed good–looking and smarter.

Layla looked at Madeline and was disgusted.

Madeline snorted. “Be like her? Should I spend the night with my brother–in–law and wear his clothes too!” 

Madeline ignored them and went upstairs to catch some sleep. 

Layla did not think there was anything wrong with Winslet. 

“Something must have happened, causing Winnie to do this! After all, Winnie has always been pure and noble. She has been obedient since childhood, so she’s naturally different from a country bumpkin like Madeline pondered Layla 

“Mom, let me explain. It rained last night. So my clothes got dirty.”
