Chapter 25 

Madeline went to return the clothes and remove her makeup 

She had a question in her heart. 

She didn’t rush to leave but followed her memory to where she had been struck. 

The last time she was a stand–in, she squatted on the ground to rest when a thing suddenly fell from the sky and knocked her down 

She lost consciousness on the spol. 

Fortunately, she was sent to the hospital after being found. 

Otherwise, the consequence was unthinkable. 

When she arrived, there was no one in this small building at night,

The shooting had already finished, so naturally, there was no ongoing filming taking place here. 

It was quiet all around, and there was no trace left. 

Madeline spent 40 dollars and asked the security guard to retrieve surveillance footage for her. 

The security guard felt a little strange. “What are you doing here with the surveillance footage? But there is only one surveillance camera on the second floor, there might be nothing useful. If you lost something, you may not be able to find it now.” 

Madeline smiled and said, “It’s okay. Can you let me have a look at the footage in early July 

The security guard also worked as the security guard of the scenic area, so it was good to earn a little extra money. 

Inside the security room, the surveillance footage skipped to the day when Madeline had her accident.

Someone must have found Madeline. 

However, no one was investigating this matter 

The crew also suppressed the news of the accident for fear that the filming progress would be affected. They even compensated Madeline a few hundred dollars. 

Besides, this woman didn’t show her face. It had been so many days, and it would be impossible to find out who she was. 

Madeline’s face was cold and she copied the video to her phone 

“This woman is so vicious. How could she do that?” The security guard was sweating a little, and added. “Besides, she didn’t show her face all the time. It’s possible she was aware of the surveillance camera’s presence and deliberately acted this way.” 

“It’s okay” Madeline took the phone and said, “I know who she is. Don’t spread this.” 

The security guard nodded. “Okay” 

Madeline took her phone and lelf the security room. 

Of course, she knew who the woman was. It was a supporting actress in the crew. 

She was Winslet’s best friend, Jasmine Zook. 

The Zook family was also rich, and much wealthier than the Larson family. 

Jasmine hued a long–standing dream of pursuing an acting career. Unfortunately, Acucester didn’t have many available filming projects. 

Chapter 25 

Hence, it was normal for Madeline and Jasmine to end up on 

the same cr 

crew. 

Jasmine had debuted just over a year ago, and yet she was already cast in a supporting actress role. 

It was evident that her family background held a significant influence, 

Madeline held her phone and said, “I have no enmity with her. I never knew her before. I just saw her from a distance. Her actions nearly resulted in my death, and it was undeniably not an accidental occurrence. It must have been intentional” 

A dark gleam flashed in Madeline’s eyes. “Winslet, you really won’t let me go everywhere.” 

It was already 10 o’clock when she arrived home. 

Madeline was eating pasta downstairs when Hannah transferred 100 dollars. 

While 100 dollars could be used for her living expenses, it was not enough to cover the tuition.. 

While she was deep in thought as she ate pasta, a woman appeared in front of her. 

She was wearing a pink skirt and carrying a designer bag. 

Madeline lified her gaze and noticed Winslet her arms crossed over her chest, peering down at her. 

Madeline furrowed her brow. She had just learned about Winslet’s actions, and yet here she was standing at her door! 

“Madeline, I’ve been waiting for you for three hours. Winslet frowned slightly. Impatience tinged her delicate features. “You truly have a knack for returning so late at night.” 

She said casually. “How can you eat this pasta? Our housekeeper eats better than this, Oh, I almost forgot that your card has been frozen and you have no money to eat anything else. You’re a country bumpkin, and you must be used to living in poverty.” 

Madeline smiled. “This pasta costs 1 dollar and 60 cents. Why can’t I eat it! As you said, I’m used to it. Meanwhile, I can see you’re also accustomed to reaping where you haven’t sown, envisioning yourself as the rightful heiress,” 

Madeline looked calm and anticipated that Winslet would come to her. 

Winslet had lost her patience, 

Seeing that she couldn’t study at Acocester University, she naturally became anxious 

Winslet grew up having the best of everything 

She couldn’t accept repeating her studies or going to a vocational school 

Being labeled a false heiress daughter was a sore point for Winslet. 

“Haha, so what? The one who isn’t loved is fake and redundant. Who is the redundant person in our family? Should I remind you!” 

Windler said angrily, “Besides, I’m not here to argue with you. You know my purpose. 

Madeline said, “Not in a million years.” 

Winslet gritted her teeth and said. “You could pass the exam if you retook it, anyway. Hand over your spot to me. My brothers will give you 100 thousand dollars! Besides, Dad and Mom promised that they will treat you better in the future. What else do you want? Do you really want to be kicked out of the Larson residence? 

Madeline didn’t bother 

She ate the last bite of pasta i 

in silence. 

Then, she turned around and went upstairs to her rental house. 

Winslet chased Madeline to the door and grabbed her hand. Her eyes reddened as she implored, “You have to agree! If you hadn’t returned home and disrupted my state of mind, how could I have failed the exam! You owe me that much.” 

Winslet was really anxious 1 can give you as much money as you want. You are short of money, but I have it!
