Chapter 70 

Silence engulfed the room. 

Everyone ignored Benjamin. 

A shuddering Winslet hid behind Benjamin. 

She wondered, “That man doesn’t even care about the Moore family! Who the hell is he?” 

Winslet tugged at Benjamin’s sleeve uneasily, trying g to make herself less noticeable. 

The atmosphere was oppressive, and she could feel the presence of danger around her. 

Slowly, time passed by 

It was unusually quiet in the room. 

Everyone looked at Benjamin and wanted to see if the latter could handle this situation 

“How dare the Moore family beg for mercy when Ms. Hayes and Mr. Lowe didn’t even do so! This young lad doesn’t know his place” 

Someone also muttered. “The Moore family is pretty influential. Benjamin’s uncle–in–law is very powerful in the capital” 

“Yes, the Moore family is well–established, and it’s pretty famous here. Perhaps the family will get some respect.” 

“You’re right. Even Ms. Hayes will give the Moore family an ounce of respect.” 

The oppressive silence dragged on. 

Benjamin could hardly keep calm anymore. 

So, he raised his head and gazed at Nolan directly. Nolan seemed unaffected by this and maintained a cool expression. Although he was weak, he was aware of everything. 

After a while, Nolan smirked and replied, “Respect?” 

He looked up with a menacing gaze. “Do you even deserve it“ 

Benjamin was stunned and stood frozen on the spot.

He raised his arm, half–embraced Madeline, and gently covered her eyes with a cold hand. 

*Be a good girl and don’t look.” 

Madeline looked up at him, “Nolan 

“Shh.” Nolan raised his other hand and pressed his index finger against Madeline’s lips. “Im just going to teach him a lesson. I’m already being 

merciful.” 

Nolan added nonchalantly. “If you help him beg for mercy again, I’ll get angry. You know that I can’t control the consequences.” 

Then, he lowered his head and whispered in Madeline’s ear, “If I wanted to kill, nobody would be getting out alive. I’m doing this out of respect for 

you. 

Madeline stiffened and pursed her lips. “I didn’t intend to beg for mercy… I just want to see what will happen. Im an adult now, and it’s nothing to 

me” 

Nolan smiled and said, “All right, then” 

Benjamin was already ghastly p
