However, as Ian had a somber look to him, Cindy could only suppress her awkward thoughts.
After applying the ointment, he went to the kitchen to clear the shattered fragments of the cup and wiped away the water on the floor.
As she looked at him tidying up the area, she was a little moved by his actions.
She couldn’t describe what emotions were surging inside her, but it felt like her heart had suddenly warmed after being slightly moved.
Cindy felt as though she had burned herself again, so she quickly withdrew her gaze and took a deep breath.
Even if her emotions had instantly faded away, she still felt slightly scared of those unpredictable emotions that caught her off guard.
After Ian was done with everything in the kitchen, he came over to check on Cindy and noticed that the instep of her foot was reddening.
He sighed and said, “You should head back to your room and rest at home tomorrow. I can head to the film shoot alone.”
She lowered her gaze. “Maybe it’ll be better tomorrow.”
Without saying a word, he helped her to her room by supporting her arm.
After tucking Cindy into bed, Ian turned around to leave.
At the same time, she sat on the bed and stared at the closed door while thinking of something unknown.
Somehow...
She felt that this was a lovely gesture from him.
With that revelation, she threw herself on the bed and whimpered softly. When he held my arm earlier, why did I feel a little shy? Not only did I not dare to look or speak to him, I even lost control of my breathing. T-There’s something obviously wrong with me.
Cindy was a little frustrated, but Ian, who had returned to his room, wasn’t in a better state either.
As he furrowed his brows, he glanced at the phone that he threw on the bed earlier and noticed that his call with Logan was still connected. I have to give the man credit for waiting until now.
He went over and picked up the phone. “Logan.”
Logan immediately replied, “You’re back.”
“Why were you waiting for me?” An amused Ian questioned, “I thought you would hang up the phone.”
“I just wanted to hear what was happening on your side, but I couldn’t hear anything at all,” Logan responded with boredom.
Ever since Ian left the phone in his room, Logan naturally couldn’t hear what was being said in the living room.
Ian chuckled. “You really love to gossip.”
After letting out a sigh, Logan replied, “There’s nothing else in life that I can gossip about anymore, so I can live vicariously through you. What happened? Did something happen to your assistant? You seemed frightened when you threw the phone aside and ran out.”
As he listened to him, Ian furrowed his brows again. “It’s nothing. She accidentally broke a cup of hot water and burned herself.”
“How can you consider that as nothing?” Logan shouted on the other end of line, but he soon came back to his senses. “Do you really need to act tough in front of me? Seeing as how scared you were earlier, I can see that you were really concerned. We’ve known each other for so many years, so you don’t need to hide anything from me. If you are really concerned about your assistant, you can just say it. There’s nothing to be embarrassed about.”
Ian pressed his lips and didn’t refute Logan’s words.
It wasn’t because he didn’t want to. Instead, it was because he didn’t know how or what to refute.
Given how painful it was to have been burned by hot water, Ian was indeed frightened at that time, especially when he saw that Cindy’s entire foot had reddened. Suddenly, there was an unpleasant feeling inside his heart.
After changing into his pajamas, he lay on the bed and changed the topic. “I have a few days off before joining the cast next month. I’m thinking of seeing you guys, so we should arrange somewhere to meet up.”
Logan agreed and suggested, “You should bring your assistant with you. Sophia has always wanted to see her. Not to mention, all of us are extremely eager to meet this assistant of yours.”
Since he didn’t want to continue talking about Cindy, Ian replied, “I’ll see what I can do.”

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
