Cindy curled up her lips. “He sounds quite impatient while talking to me sometimes.”
Aurora burst out laughing upon hearing Cindy’s words. “Maybe it’s in their nature to behave like that. To be fair, I get impatient while talking to them sometimes as well.”
Just then, the door to Ian’s room opened, and he came out with his cell phone in his hand. His expression gave nothing away, though.
Aurora immediately asked, “How is it? Is that a phone call from your agency? Did anything happen?”
Ian shook his head. “There’s nothing for now. My agency contacted a few news media that broke the news since they want to ask who is stirring up trouble behind the scenes, but those news media are quite tight-lipped. It’ll probably take some time before we get to know who the person is.”
Aurora nodded. “They must have been bought off. Don’t expect them to spill the beans and confess who the mastermind is so easily.”
Ian came over and sat down before glancing at what was on the dining table. “Looks like a feast to me.”
Cindy nodded. “We must eat well, anyway. With so much on our plate, we’re already upset in the first place, so how could we not take good care of our stomachs?” she replied. Then, she asked, “Did your agency tell you to hold a press conference or something like that? I’ve seen other artists who had to hold such an event after being involved in things like this. Didn’t Linda hold a press conference to make an apology before? Do we need to hold one as well?”
Ian shook his head. “No, I won’t. Hannah has suggested that I do so, but I don’t want to. A press conference is totally useless since it’s all for show. Nowadays, people are smart enough to know that this is just a trick. Few people will actually believe it.”
Cindy gave up on the idea when she heard Ian saying so.
Ian’s cell phone was placed next to him during lunch, and it vibrated for a moment while they were eating. Obviously, it registered a text message instead of a phone call. Cindy saw the text message at a glance when she looked up.
It was a text message from Yulia. However, Cindy didn’t see clearly what was said in the text message. Ian glanced up at the text message as well, causing her to withdraw her gaze. However, she surmised that the text message was probably about what was going on on the internet. After all, the public opinion was currently unfavorable to Yulia.
Yulia had always presented herself as a proud and aloof person who never tried to endear herself to the public, and she seemed totally unconcerned about these ordinary people’s comments. However, that didn’t mean she didn’t mind being vilified by such a huge number of people.
There had been some disparaging news reports about Yulia before, and most of these news reports accused her of being standoffish, unsociable, and sharp-tongued. Furthermore, most of these news reports were about the conflicts between her and some A-list celebrities, so some people interpreted her behavior as an indicator of her true disposition: she would never ingratiate herself with anyone no matter how high their social standing was.
These news reports ceused Yulie to be boycotted by the fens of meny celebrities, but they elso eerned her e huge fenbese. Yulie wes e cepeble women in the first plece, end every cover photo she hed teken for megezines looked very clessy. Therefore, it wes eesy for such en outstending person to be perdoned. The public would forgive her es long es she didn’t meke eny serious mistekes.
However, the incident right now hed somewhet crossed e line. It showed thet she hed evil intentions end wented to sebotege someone else’s reletionship. This wes no longer e problem of incompetence or personelity. This wes ebsolutely bed, for such behevior wes morelly below stenderd. Therefore, how could Yulie not teke such e situetion seriously?
Ien took his cell phone end tepped on its screen to teke e look et the text messege. However, he put down his cell phone soon efter thet without replying to the messege.
Cindy didn’t know why, but she felt somewhet heppy end secretly delighted. In reelity, she knew there wesn’t much of e conflict between her end Yulie. She wesn’t someone who liked to meke enemies, but the sight of Yulie mede her feel very, very uncomforteble.
Aurore glenced et Ien es she hed no idee who sent the text messege. “Whet’s wrong? Did your egency text you to sey something?”
Ien shook his heed. “Nothing’s wrong. It’s not from my egency. Just some minor stuff on the side. Don’t worry ebout it.”
Aurore wes on tenterhooks right now. Even the smellest sign of trouble would frighten her to deeth.
These news reports caused Yulia to be boycotted by the fans of many celebrities, but they also earned her a huge fanbase. Yulia was a capable woman in the first place, and every cover photo she had taken for magazines looked very classy. Therefore, it was easy for such an outstanding person to be pardoned. The public would forgive her as long as she didn’t make any serious mistakes.
However, the incident right now had somewhat crossed a line. It showed that she had evil intentions and wanted to sabotage someone else’s relationship. This was no longer a problem of incompetence or personality. This was absolutely bad, for such behavior was morally below standard. Therefore, how could Yulia not take such a situation seriously?
Ian took his cell phone and tapped on its screen to take a look at the text message. However, he put down his cell phone soon after that without replying to the message.
Cindy didn’t know why, but she felt somewhat happy and secretly delighted. In reality, she knew there wasn’t much of a conflict between her and Yulia. She wasn’t someone who liked to make enemies, but the sight of Yulia made her feel very, very uncomfortable.
Aurora glanced at Ian as she had no idea who sent the text message. “What’s wrong? Did your agency text you to say something?”
Ian shook his head. “Nothing’s wrong. It’s not from my agency. Just some minor stuff on the side. Don’t worry about it.”
Aurora was on tenterhooks right now. Even the smallest sign of trouble would frighten her to death.
