However, Cindy disagreed with her deliberation. As a person who knew herself well, she would still consider things carefully regardless how nicely others put it. She knew clearly how much she was worth and wouldn’t get her head in the air just because somebody complimented her.
Instead of answering to anything Aurora said, Cindy merely buried herself in the food. A few minutes later, her cell phone in her pocket vibrated curtly twice, and she reckoned that she had just received a text. She stopped chewing for a couple of seconds, but didn’t take her phone out to check it.
For some reason, she had a strong feeling that if she had indeed received a message, it was most probably from Ian.
When breakfast was finished, Aurora didn’t stay longer at the hotel, and after she told Cindy to watch out for her own safety, she left the place. Judging from the current situation, Aurora thought that Cindy would feel even more pressured if she stayed by her side. So, she decided to give her some space.
Walking out of the hotel, Aurora wanted to tell Ian about Cindy’s whereabouts, but she hesitated after she took out her cell phone.
I still don’t know what happened between the both of them and the severity of the situation, she thought. But both of them are dragging things out now. If this goes on, nobody knows how long it will take for them to make up.
In the end, she kept away her cell phone because she wanted Ian to be anxious and worried; maybe that would help improve their relationship.
At the hotel entrance, she took a cab and went to Ian’s place. When she got there, he was still slumped on the couch, and as she walked toward the living room, she could clearly smell that the air was tinged with the smell of cigarettes.
Startled, she scanned the room and saw the cigarette butts on the coffee table. Ian is not a smoker, but he’s actually smoking now. This goes to show how frustrated he is.
Sighing, she took a seat next to him and patted his shoulder gently. “You’ve always told me that the both of you aren’t argumentative, so how did you end up in such a bad fight?” Both of them aren’t argumentative, but the situation is even more sticky when they’re mad than when they’re arguing.
Breathing out loudly, Ian couldn’t figure out why everything was beyond his control. Until now, he still couldn’t explain why he was so impulsive last night.
Even if he would do something unexpected because he was really frustrated, kissing her would have been the last thing on his list. This was the point which he couldn’t understand.
A few minutes later, he turned to Aurora. “You really didn’t meet her?”
Aurora nodded, trying her best to appear honest. “But we did speak on the phone, and I think she may be a little upset. She said she knows what I want to say, so she doesn’t feel like meeting up.”
For now, Ian could only sigh helplessly because he didn’t know what he should do. Earlier, he had sent Cindy a text, but she still hadn’t replied. In his text, he didn’t admit to his mistake directly, and he just said that he wanted to speak to her face-to-face. Since she didn’t reply, he reckoned that she probably didn’t want to meet him.
Feeling incredibly frustrated, Ian stood up and said, “I’m tired and am going to rest for a while. Make yourself at home.” Then, he returned to his room.
Barely a few seconds had passed after he went into his room when his cell phone rang. At first, he was stunned, but he hastily fished out his phone from his pocket, thinking that it was Cindy who was calling him. When he saw the name on the screen, the flurry of emotions he felt earlier completely disappeared because it was Logan who was calling him.
Running his fingers through his hair, he decided to answer the call. “Hi, Logan.”
“Yeah,” Logan answered curtly and continued in a rather anxious tone. “What happened? I just saw so much news about you on the Internet. I went to Lola’s hometown with her for a couple of days and didn’t have the time to check my phone. You rascal, you’re on all my recommended news when I went online today.”
Sighing in exasperation, Ian said, “The news has been out for a few days now. It’s okay, I’m probably targeted by someone. This will blow over after some time.”

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
