Ian responded to Aurora’s comments with a snort. “Regretting it now, eh?”
With that, he turned and walked toward a café at the airport.
Most of the customers in the café weren’t really there for coffee; they were just willing to spend money for a place to rest their feet.
After they entered the café, Aurora piped up, asking, “Why aren’t you the least bit excited? Aren’t you eager to see your girlfriend?”
Ian thought it was funny. “What’s there to be excited or eager about?”
After all, the relationship between him and Cindy was fake, but even if it were real, he wouldn’t be that excited either.
It was too early, so the two whiled away their time in the café.
Ian went online and read some entertainment news. Mentions of him were already dying down, but there were still some people claiming that he had admitted to all the rumors about him because he didn’t respond to them.
He had stopped getting worked up over such articles. It might have been a change in his attitude, for when he read those articles, he only wanted to laugh for some reason.
After a while of reading, Ian received Logan’s message asking what he was doing. Logan had also asked him if he wanted to join him for dinner.
Logan wanted to invite Ian to his and Lola’s new home, for Ian hadn’t seen it before. He even wanted to show Ian the baby room he had prepared. Ian nearly cracked up after reading Logan’s message. Hehe! This guy really will show off everything he can. He’s even trying to flaunt a baby room!
After thinking for a bit, Ian replied, saying that he had some matters coming up tonight, so he suggested they meet up tomorrow instead.
Ian waited, but he didn’t get Logan’s reply after a while, so he hesitated before sending another message.
He said that Cindy would be back today, so tomorrow would be a perfect time to meet up and introduce Cindy to everyone.
Not long after the message was sent, Ian received a call from Logan.
Logan did nothing to hide his surprise as he shouted over the phone, “Ms. Selby is coming over? Is it because you asked her? Haha! I told you so! You can’t endure it any longer, can you?”
Ian frowned. Logan was going to be a father soon, but he was still acting like a child himself.
Ian held his phone a distance away from his ear and waited for Logan to finish speaking. Then, he put his phone to his ear once again to speak. “We just had something to discuss. Stop guessing. Also, behave yourself when she comes, all right? She’s kinda introverted.”
Logan snorted. “Heh, look at yourself! As if you didn’t have any ulterior motives! We hadn’t even met, but you’re already giving me warnings. You’re obviously protective of her.”
Then, Logan sighed, seemingly realizing something. “Ian, you have to be true to your heart. Don’t overlook what you’re really thinking, all right? You’ll regret it if you miss this chance.”
Ian wasn’t in the mood for such talk. “All right, just focus on your wife. I can handle things by myself. If you get involved, things would only get more complicated.”
Logan wasn’t too happy with that. “Hmph! I’m just worried that if I don’t get myself involved, you’ll be single for the rest of your life. As your bro, I cannot let that happen.”
Ian didn’t want to continue the meaningless topic. He simply reminded Logan to behave when the time came, and then he hung up.
Aurora was still fully absorbed in reading some entertainment news, so she didn’t notice the phone call. She was clicking her tongue at her phone.
Ian wondered what sort of news she was reading that would cause her to react like that.
The two kept waiting, and finally, the plane touched down.
Cindy’s flight was announced over the PA system, and Aurora immediately jumped to her feet. “She’s here. She’s here! My daughter-in-law is here! Come, come, let’s go fetch her.”
Ian’s eyebrows scrunched up, then relaxed again. There would always be circumstances he couldn’t change no matter how many times he reminded her, so he decided to just shut up.
He followed Aurora all the way to the port.
It didn’t take long for Cindy to appear. She was lugging her pine green luggage case, and her outfit wasn’t too different from what she wore when she was working with Ian.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
