Chapter 1703 A Call From Leah

When Cindy saw Ian coming, she smiled helplessly as he was rather clingy for some reason today. Under his intense gaze, she somehow managed to finish frying all the dishes. Then, they took all the plates to the table, after which she turned around and was ready to wake Aurora up.

However, Ian's phone suddenly rang again, which made Cindy stop reflexively. Next, he picked up the phone and looked at it with a strange feeling. The number was an unfamiliar one, but it was definitely local. Ian did not have many friends and he knew everyone’s phone numbers, so he really didn’t know who this was. After waiting for a while and noticing that the ringing did not seem like it was stopping any time soon, he had to pick up the call. As he did so, an angry voice came full of cursing.

Even though it had been a long time since they last met, Ian could recognize at once whose voice this was. It was not Simon nor Sally, but Leah. Leah usually behaved gracefully and elegantly in the Morgan Residence, but now, she was simply full of filthy words. She cursed that Ian was up to no good and that he only wanted to come back to divide the assets now that the old man was dying. Then, she said he had not lived in the family residence for many years and so was not qualified to demand a penny from the Morgan Family. Besides, she also said that he was an illegitimate son, so he was not qualified to appear in front of the people of the Morgan Family.

Since Leah's voice was obstreperous, Cindy could hear her words even though she was some distance away from Ian. She was so exasperated that she walked to his side and wanted to scold back. Although she did not know how to curse others, she refused to let others bully him.

However, he seemed to know what she was about to do. So, he raised his hand and pressed on Cindy's shoulder. Even without saying anything, she understood that he wanted her to calm down. While laughing, he directly interrupted Leah's incessant tirade and commented, "Just because you’re the legal wife of Bryce Morgan, does that mean Simon and Sally are his legitimate children? Have you forgotten what kind of status you had back then?"

At the other end of the line, Leah gave a start before she started cursing again. Even though Ian refused to curse, it didn’t mean that the facts he stated did not hurt.

Ian ignored her scolding before he said, "Didn’t your boss at the nightclub tell you that even after wrecking someone’s marriage, if you become the legal wife later, you’re still considered the homewrecker? Do you think you’re better than others? Do you believe I can immediately search for someone to find out all the things you did before you two officially married? That nightclub you used to work at hasn’t closed down yet, so the staff there may still remember you and what you did."

The moment Leah heard this, she fell silent. She did not come from a good background, so she had done a lot of work that she was ashamed of. It was only later when she had money that she tried to whitewash everything. Later, it took her a lot of effort to meet Bryce. She knew that the man was only playing with her heart, but she was unwilling to concede. After that, she concocted a plan to hire someone to catch her and Bryce in bed. At that time, the commotion was quite large and while Bryce was actually quite angry too, he had no choice but to agree to the marriage with Leah due to the negative effects of public opinion on the company.

He was still haunted by this matter after many years and Leah knew that there were no real feelings between them both. She was already old and sallow, so Bryce no longer harbored any love for her. She just wanted to wait; since he was much older than she was, if she took good care of herself, she would be able to wait for the day when she inherited all of his assets.
