Yulia was a prominent figure supported by various top stars in the entertainment industry.
Due to negative rumors circulating online, her reputation had taken a huge hit. However, she was still a professional, so the connections and resources she accumulated over the years were still steadfast. Even though netizens blistered her, it did nothing to stop her from profiting.
Also, internet users had a short attention span, so it didn’t even take years—probably only months—for them to completely forget the whole ordeal. So, Yulia still had assets she could be proud of in the entertainment industry.
Cindy found it funny that Yulia would meet Ian at the airport, for she didn’t intend to hide her motives. Ian was surprised as well, dumbfounded when he caught sight of Yulia while walking through the exit with Aurora and Cindy.
“Here to see a friend?” Ian initiated the conversation.
Yulia was dressed casually, and she also had on sunglasses, looking quite like a fashionista.
She smiled, void of shyness. “Yup, to see a friend. You’re my friend, aren’t you?”
Ian smiled. “I guess so. Wait, are you really here to see me?”
Yulia turned to Aurora and gave her a nod. “Nice to see you again, Mrs. Morgan.”
Aurora was stunned. She took a few seconds to collect herself and respond, “Hi, hello.”
Yulia then threw Cindy a glance. “Hello, Ms. Selby.”
Cindy wasn’t too happy about it, but for appearances’ sake, she still faked a smile. “Hello.”
The party walked out of the terminal, and as they walked, Yulia piped up, “I heard about your flight information from Ms. Jones. I didn’t intend to come at first, but since I’m free today, I thought I might as well do something.”
Ian couldn’t care less. He held Cindy’s hand as they walked out, glancing around at the roadside with the intention of hailing a cab. In the end, Yulia spoke up. “My car is in the parking lot. Let me give you a ride.”
Ian pursed his lips, choosing not to respond immediately. However, Aurora spoke instead. “We don’t want to trouble you too much. There are cabs right here.”
Yulia smiled. “It’s not troublesome at all. I’m already here, aren’t I? We’ll be headed in the same direction.”
Cindy hadn’t spoken a word from the beginning till the end, save for the single ‘hello’ she gave Yulia. She didn’t say another word until after Yulia sent them home in her car.
Yulia’s car was parked at the entrance of their community. Cindy stood beside Ian, her expression vague. Without getting out of the car, Yulia bid them goodbye from her side of the car window. Meanwhile, Ian had his hand on Cindy’s shoulder as he thanked Yulia.
Yulia smiled. “No need for thanks. We’re friends, right?”
Ian didn’t respond. He waited until Yulia was gone before wrapping an arm around Cindy. They then walked toward the community, lugging their luggage behind them. Aurora was a sharp-eyed person, so of course, she noticed that something was off at this point.
She lowered her voice and said hesitantly, “This Yulia woman is being too nice to you, isn’t she? Look at her; she obviously came just for you.”
After saying that, Aurora added tentatively, “I looked her up before. It just isn’t something someone of her caliber would do.”
Ian wasn’t a fool, so he could see that as well. He pursed his lips, and the smile vanished from his face. He thought it wasn’t possible between him and Yulia, but when he saw Yulia’s behavior just now, he wasn’t so sure anymore.
Ian simply held Cindy closer to him as he stayed silent. Aurora didn’t follow Ian back to his home, opting to go home instead. She said she wanted to go back and clean things up first. Ian also had some cleaning up to do, so they parted ways at the intersection.
Ian and Cindy walked the rest of the way home. After entering the house, Cindy stood still at the entrance. Ian, on the other side, placed their luggage inside, then turned around to look at her. “What’s wrong? Why aren’t you coming in?”
Cindy remained silent, pursing her lips.
After some thinking, Ian walked over and pulled her into an embrace. “Are you angry?”

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
