The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1901

Chapter 1901 To the Set

The driver revved the car up and started driving.

None of them spoke on the journey. Cindy didn’t feel as annoyed as she was anymore. After she gave it some thought, she realized that if Yulia did go public with her feelings, it’d give Cindy an edge. If the public knew that Yulia wanted to have Ian for herself despite him being taken already, they would boycott her. If they knew she tried to pull some kind of trick, it’d impact her career.

Cindy wondered if Yulia paid more importance to her career or her love life. If Yulia did make a ruckus, it would be hard to clean up the mess. She wouldn’t end up together with Ian, and it’d hurt their already strained relationship. If the public knew what she truly wanted, she would have no chance to be together with Ian. I wonder if she has realized this, but judging from the situation, she probably hasn’t.

When they came to the set, Cindy first looked out the window and scanned the cars parked at the entrance. She knew what Yulia’s convertible looked like, and it wasn’t there. Did she give up and stopped coming today? Ian’s work starts late today. Yulia’s an impatient woman, so if she wanted to come, she would have been waiting for him. Cindy got out of the car and went to the set with Ian.

There were a lot of cars parked outside. Some drivers didn’t want to wait in the car, so they got out and had a little chat with their friends.

Cindy was feeling a little paranoid, so when she and Ian went past the drivers, she thought they were giving them weird looks. I think they’re talking about us behind our backs. After they walked into the set, she whispered, “Hey, I had a feeling that they were watching us.”

Ian held her hand. “Ignore them. They aren’t worth our time.”

They had gone public with their relationship, so holding hands was understandable. Cindy smiled and went to the makeup room with him.

There were already a lot of people there when they came in. Ian said hi to them before picking a spot to sit in. The makeup artists were busy, so there wasn’t anyone to help him with his makeup yet. Cindy took the chance to chat with him, and they talked about Aurora’s shoot.

Aurora’s slot was a bit later in the day, so Cindy wondered if she would bump into Ian. Ian would have to talk to the producers after the shoot, since he needed to know where they got the inspiration for the background.

Hannah said most places in the show were inspired by the city they were in, but he might have to work in another city because of the story, though the place wasn’t decided yet.

Ian would go back home every day if he would be shooting in the city, and so would Aurora. That was their plan. If their schedules met, they could come home together. Aurora should have seen everything life had to offer at her age, but Ian was still worried about her.

Lots of people disliked nepotism, and Aurora only became popular thanks to Ian. Once she started working, Ian knew the crew members would trip her up.

They chatted for a while longer, and someone came into the room again. Before Ian and Cindy got to see who it was, the person said, “Oh, everyone’s here already.”

When they heard the voice, Cindy and Ian stopped chatting, and they looked at each other. Cindy said, “I win.”

A smile curled Ian’s lips, and he looked at Cindy. “Same difference.”

Cindy knew what Ian was talking about; it was the bet they had.
