The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1922

Chapter 1922 Date

Ian clicked his tongue. “Find a woman, and your life won’t be boring anymore.”

Sean chuckled. “Women? That’s not what I need. I might end up with a woman like Leah. I mean, if the taste for women is hereditary, then I’m doomed.”

Well, if he can joke like that, it means he’s fine. Ian felt relieved, then Sean asked him how his life was going. He had seen Ian on the news, and he thought Ian was doing well.

Ian leaned back on the sofa and stretched his arm. “I’m fine. I’m just shooting every day. It’s the same thing I’ve always done.” I used to be alone, but now I have someone to spend my time with. The change wasn’t big, but it wasn’t small either.

“I see. That’s good to hear. It’s not easy for someone to live the life they want until the very end.”

Everyone wanted a peaceful life, though not everyone could have that.

Sean had something to do, since Ian heard his assistant coming over to tell Sean that he had to work on something.

As Ian had nothing important to say, he hung up, then he went back to his room. Ian lay on the bed and stared at the ceiling, and he frowned. He didn’t like the life of a celebrity. He turned to look at Cindy. If it’s possible, I want to quit my job and live a normal life with her. It’ll be a nice life.

Cindy woke up in the afternoon, and Ian was already in the living room. She heard the sound of the TV, so she went out slowly. Ian was playing his mobile game, and it must be going well, since she saw him smiling. As it wasn’t time for dinner yet, she sat down beside Ian. “You didn’t sleep? Aren’t you tired?”

Ian didn’t stop playing. “I don’t have to sleep so much.”

Cindy nodded and stretched her arm.

They didn’t say anything. After Ian finished his match, he logged out and hugged Cindy. “Wanna take a stroll?”

Cindy didn’t want to. She was a lazy woman, and going out meant she had to dress up, but then she thought about the clothes she bought today, and it stoked the competitive flame within her. She didn’t want to lose to Yulia, so she nodded. “Okay. Give me a minute. I’ll get changed.”

She didn’t just change her clothes. She even put makeup on and styled her hair, then she came out shyly.

Ian was on the couch, his legs crossed. He was looking at his phone, but he stood up when Cindy came out. “Alright, let’s—” He stopped talking halfway through. Cindy wasn’t dressing up too gorgeously, but she did look different compared to her usual look.

Cindy fidgeted sheepishly. “Do I look weird?”

Ian smiled. “No. You look fine. In fact, you should dress up more.”

She went over and held his arm to stop him from talking about her looks. “Let’s go now.”

They went for a stroll, then dinner. It was already getting late, and Cindy was looking too beautiful for a regular eatery, so Ian took her to a Western restaurant.

It was the first time she went on such a formal date with Ian. She was holding his arm, and she wanted to laugh. She thought nothing exciting would happen, as they were already quite a long way into their relationship, but now she felt excited.
