Aurora took a deep breath, then said, “Not really. This time, she also knows what to say to try to get her reputation back.”
When Aurora finished speaking, Cindy found Yulia’s news statement and hurriedly clicked on it to have a read. Yulia’s statement did not push the problems to Ian and she did not even mention him at all. She merely said that the executive director was not her friend at all, elaborating that the two had some problems before and had long been at odds. Therefore, the executive director deliberately said those words to mess her life up.
Thus, Yulia's statement implied that what the other party said were simply unfounded rumors and nothing more.
Since she did not mention Ian and only explained the things about her, Cindy felt less upset. After carefully reading Yulia’s statement, she commented, “To be honest, I also think there are some problems with what the executive director said.”
He said he and Yulia were friends, but when he talked to those people, he didn't have an excellent opinion of Yulia. Even if they were ordinary friends, he should not have been degrading her so much in front of others.
Aurora chuckled and opined, “Who knows? Maybe Yulia is schemed against by others this time.”
Cindy was not trying to explain anything on Yulia’s behalf. After all, she was actually relieved that Yulia had ended up like this. However, she was considering the matter on its own and felt that while what the executive director said would have a grain of truth in it, it was likely to be exaggerated as well. However, for him to know about this would require him to know the same contacts as Yulia.
Thinking that the relationships between people were always so complex, Cindy felt a headache coming. The entertainment industry was confusing because friends appeared as enemies and vice versa. Anyone could easily backstab others and as they said, everything was superficial in the entertainment circle.
Looking a little tired, Aurora leaned on the sofa and was about to close her eyes. When she saw that, Cindy told Aurora to hurry to her room and sleep, so Aurora slowly stood up from the couch. “I should be able to rest well for a while. Although it is good to be busy, I’m not used to such chaos.”
Cindy nodded and went to the guest room with Aurora to help her to get the quilt out. “I know. I used to think it’s good to work from 9 to 5 everyday, but now that I’m really living such a life, I feel exasperated about it.”
Not only was it annoying not to see Ian, it was also the case that the working life was not as good as she imagined. As Cindy had never been in the workforce before, she was naïve when it came to imagining what working life would be like. It was only when she joined the company that she realized that every workplace has their set of fixed rules. Moreover, she seemed to have broken some unspoken rules as soon as she was hired, so the upcoming situation would be somewhat difficult.
Aurora was bone tired, so she lay on the bed and aimed for a comfortable position before saying, “I’m going to sleep. You don’t need to care for me. Carry on with your work.”
Cindy agreed and retreated from the room. She thought about it and went to the refrigerator to get some ingredients to make lunch later. Since Aurora was here, Cindy decided to cook two dishes that Aurora liked. If Ian was at home, it would really appear as if they were back to the old days.
She first prepared the ingredients before going back to the room where Aurora was sleeping. She hesitated and also followed suit to nap for a while. It was a comfortable nap that was accompanied by a beautiful dream. Cindy dreamed that she married Ian and gave birth to a daughter, who was particularly well-behaved and lovely. She almost woke up laughing from the dream as she was full of happiness.
Soon, Cindy went out of the room. Aurora was not yet awake, so she went to the kitchen to cook first. However, before the dishes were done, Aurora pushed open the door, lazily stretched and slowly walked out.
