Once Aurora walked into the house, she placed their breakfast on the dining table. "It's fortunate that I'm free now. It'd be a little more troublesome if this happened two days later when I have the audio test." It hadn't been easy for her to get this opportunity, so she didn't want to delay it.
Cindy was already done packing her luggage. After she and Ian finished their meal, she went over to ask Aurora about the audio recording. "Hannah called me to tell me about this. I'll be going for the audio test a few days after we come back from your engagement banquet, so I'll be able to make it in time," Aurora replied.
Then, Aurora glanced at Ian. "Did Hannah ask you why you're on vacation?"
"She did." Ian took a sip of his milk. "I told her that I have some family matters." He wasn't sure if Hannah would approve his leave if he told her the truth. Hannah had been telling him not to cause any trouble, and getting engaged was relatively huge news. The public would definitely have a heated discussion if they found out about it. He didn't want to cause any issues, so he figured that it'd be better not to tell Hannah about it.
Aurora nodded. "I guess this can be considered family matters." She then turned to look at Cindy. "Did you tell your family about this?"
Cindy had no choice but to answer honestly. "No. Our family doesn't have a tradition of hosting engagement parties. When I last told my mom about it, she said that we could host the party on our own. She said that they would get involved if we hosted a wedding."
Aurora didn't think much about it. "Okay, then."
Once they were done eating, the driver gave them a call. Then, three of them brought their luggage downstairs and got in the car before heading to the airport. The driver knew what they were going to do there, so he chuckled as he dropped them off at the airport. "I'll be waiting to see all the sweet photos."
Ian tapped the driver on his shoulder. "I'll get you a gift." The driver chuckled again. "Alright. I'll be waiting for you." The driver didn't wait for them to get on the flight. He left right after he dropped them off. Three of them went through the security check, then waited at the lounge area.
Aurora scrolled through her phone before turning to look at Ian. "I heard Yulia visited you at the hospital a few days ago."
Cindy immediately turned to look at them. "Did Yulia visit you? When?"
Ian scoffed. "She came when I was in the hospital a few days ago. She didn't say much when she was there; she just said that she was there to visit since she heard that I was hospitalized. I think she only came for about five minutes before leaving. The driver was there with me." After saying all of this, he turned to look at Cindy. It was clear that he was giving such a detailed explanation just for her.
I used to feel like it took me a while to hear any news about Ian when I was away from him, but apparently, there are some things that I never got to hear at all, Cindy thought. However, Cindy felt bad asking Ian for more information when Aurora was just beside him. She could only speak in a playful tone. "Well, tell me—what did you guys talk about? It might have only been a few minutes, but what did you guys say to each other?"
Ian thought about it for a while. I really didn't say much to Yulia. When she came in, she just said that she was there to visit because she heard that I got injured. She said that it was only right for her to do so. I hadn't been too nice to her and just thanked her for coming. After she placed her fruits down, she talked to Hannah for a while to clarify all the misunderstandings they had. Yulia said that she wanted to talk to Hannah about it since she wasn't sure if I had clarified it with Hannah.
Well, I thought there was no point in talking about it anymore since the incident happened such a long time ago. After that, Yulia just talked to the driver about the director who's in charge of my shoot. She told him that she had some issues with the director, and that the director had caused her a lot of trouble. Apparently, the director had talked bad about Yulia and spread a lot of rumors about her. I wasn't a part of most of the conversations, and Yulia left after she was done talking, Ian thought.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
