Ian wasn't lying when he said that he hadn't spoken much to Yulia. He knew that Cindy would certainly feel rather offended because he hadn't told her about it. So, he no longer dared to hide it from her and decided to come clean. Cindy listened to his explanation attentively, and she gave his stomach a soft pinch after hearing what he said. "How should I deal with you if I find out that you're lying to me?"
He quickly reached over to pull her in for a hug. "I wouldn't dare to do that. You're so smart—I'm too scared to lie to you."
Cindy didn't press him since Aurora was beside them, so she decided to let him off the hook temporarily. Once it was time for them to board, they got onto the plane and found their seats. Aurora must have woken up a little too early, for she shut her eyes after settling into a comfortable position. Both Ian and Cindy were sitting next to each other while Aurora's seat was separated by an aisle. That way, Ian and Cindy could talk without having to worry too much.
Once everyone settled down in their seats, Cindy turned around to look at Ian. "Is there anything else you're hiding from me?" Ian had already expected this. He knew that she wouldn't let Yulia's visitation go so easily. It was the same logic—he felt just as uneasy when he found out about Cindy and Gary meeting up with each other.
They held the same beliefs about each others' opposite-sex relationships, so it wasn't hard for him to put himself in Cindy's shoes. Ian held Cindy's hand as he spoke. "I'm not hiding anything from you. I just don't think there's a point in mentioning this. Yulia has her own selfish intentions for visiting me—she didn't just come because she wanted to see me. She only came because she's struggling on her own. She probably wanted to show me how tough she had it so that I'd put in a good word or two for her." Ian spoke in a warm and sincere tone. "I don't think she has any other intentions toward me now. In fact, I think she might even hate me. Her life wouldn't be in such a state if it weren't for me."
Cindy pressed her lips together as she stared at Ian with a suspicious look on her face. "Are you sure you're not hiding anything else from me?"
He sighed. "There's nothing else. Don't you believe me?" Only then did Cindy look away from him. "Fine. I believe you, but I won't let you go so easily if this happens again."
"Okay, okay." Ian beamed. "If I ever hide anything from you again, you can punish me however you want to." He seemed pretty serious about it, and Cindy understood where he was coming from. He's right. I think Yulia might actually resent him. Although she never had a good reputation, people usually think of her amazing talent and skills when they mention her name. It's easy for one's flaws to be concealed when you have impressive skill sets. I guess people used to have a rather neutral impression of her—she might not be extremely lovable, but at least people didn't hate her. Things have been different ever since she got involved with Ian. Her reputation has gone down the drain. It's no surprise for her to resent and blame Ian since she isn't the most generous person to begin with.
After a while, Cindy found herself a comfortable spot on the plane before closing her eyes to rest. However, more thoughts popped into her head after she did so. She had been suspicious of Ian earlier, and for one second, she had considered the worst possible scenario that could occur. Now that she was reflecting on her actions, she couldn't help but realize how sensitive she had been. Ian was working in the entertainment industry, so he would definitely interact with female celebrities. She knew that she couldn't continue to be so overprotective of her man. If she continued acting that way, Ian might feel repulsed by her actions, and she would only be straining herself.
Cindy let out a long sigh. This might be the greatest downside of having a boyfriend who's in the entertainment industry. He has too many women and too many temptations around him, and that just makes me feel really insecure.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
