The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 2045

Chapter 2045 What Happened to Leah

Sean was right. Ian's life had been miserable, but it wasn't Sean's fault but Bryce's.

It was Bryce who never assumed his responsibilities as a father, and he was the one who got them into such a situation.

Sean sighed upon seeing that Logan said nothing more. In the end, the former lamented plainly, "He's lucky to have a friend like you."

Stumped, Logan looked at Sean.

It was only then it dawned upon Logan that Sean's life in the Morgan household didn't fare any better.

Bryce was an expert at blurring the lines between right and wrong, while Leah was two-faced and a back-stabber. Goodness knew just how many grievances and losses Sean had suffered while living in that household.

Perhaps Sean was saving himself when he didn't reach out to Ian.

Alas, not everything could be dealt with explicitly, as no one would be left pleased in the end.

Meanwhile, everyone was done being all sentimental and it was time to bring out the food.

Cindy had to get changed, so Aurora followed her to the room.

At that, Logan hurriedly went to Ian.

On the one hand, he wanted to comfort Ian and on the other, he needed to inform him about how he dealt with Leah.

Logan had his men take her to one of his real estates. He always felt frustrated about not being able to give her a piece of his mind.

However, he knew he should let Ian in on this, as it had to do with Ian after all.

If Leah wanted to make a big deal of this in the future, it might incriminate Ian. Logan had considered the possibility as well.

Meanwhile, Ian wiped his tears away and collected himself. Later, Logan told him about what happened with Leah and at that, he sneered.

If Leah actually ran into Ian, made a scene, and yelled a bunch of nonsense, he would surely find himself on the trending pages later.

Of course, Ian was upset, for he was no saint. So, he told Logan, "Just do as you see fit. Don't worry about me."

Now that Ian had said so, Logan would now have at it. "Sure. I won't be nice to her now that I know it won't cause you too big of a problem," he said through gnashed teeth.

Meanwhile, Cindy and Aurora removed their makeup after going back to the room.

As the two had wept, their eyes were puffy now.

"I looked absolutely ridiculous on stage, didn't I?" Aurora asked as she wiped the corner of her eye with a tissue.

Cindy went to fix Aurora's hair. "No, no. You did fine."

Everyone was crying, so it wasn't a question of who looked ridiculous or not. After all, people's emotions would take over at such times.

The stylist waited off to one side. She had joined the party and also wept upon hearing their speeches.

And now, she waited for Aurora and Cindy to finish removing their makeup and compose themselves. Thereafter, she reapplied Cindy's makeup.

While doing so, the stylist reminded Cindy to keep positive, saying things like it was now over and Cindy had cried, so it was now time to rejoice.

At that, Cindy took a couple of deep breaths and said, "Okay. I know."

Then, after the stylist was done with Cindy, she moved on to Aurora.

With that, Cindy took a seat on the couch, and Ian entered just about then.

His eyes were slightly puffy as well, but it was already much better than earlier.

His expression was somewhat grave when he first entered but when he saw Cindy, it softened.

Cindy stood up at that. She had already changed into a different gown. This one was less cumbersome, so she could move relatively freely.

It wasn't until Ian was next to her that she asked, "What did Logan say?"

She still worried that Leah might cause a commotion.

He nodded in response. "He has taken her away. Don't worry. She won't be able to do anything now."

Relieved, Cindy said, "Good, but will she try to make a scene later?"

Ian chuckled coldly in response. "Don't worry. With Logan around, she wouldn't dare."

Logan's means might not be despicable, but they were definitely petty. Plus, he was vindictive, so Leah wouldn't be able to handle him.

She would surely have known a thing or two about Logan's temper after knowing him for years, so as long as she was in the right mind, she definitely wouldn't mess with him.
