The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 2063

Chapter 2063 It Was All Scripted

Naturally, both of them agreed. After pondering on that thought for a while, Ian texted Sean again to invite him to the gathering.

Just seconds after sending the message, Ian received a reply from Sean. Unfortunately, Sean declined the invitation to the gathering as he was busy.

This was, in fact, within Ian's expectations. Sean had always been like this––spending all of this time working and unwilling to take any of his time out to socialize.

Looking back, Ian realized that a lot of things would feel different when viewed from a different perspective.

He had previously envied Sean for having Bryce's protection in the Morgan Family. That was, at least, a better life than Ian's.

But now, he believed that his thoughts were too superficial.

Sean's situation may be no better than his. Sean had too many burdens to bear, even at this point in time.

As a result, he was reluctant to let anyone else into his world, leaving him alone in his own world.

Putting down his phone, Ian returned to his room and lay in bed.

Meanwhile, Cindy and Aurora were sitting alongside each other on the sofa, watching Ian's previous variety show.

His manner on stage was not the same as how he was in real life. In front of the public, he was bashful and there was even a sense of shyness in his smile.

But in reality, he wasn't like that at all. Just minutes into the show, Aurora shook her head and said, "He was so different compared to his usual self."

Cindy, on the other hand, was used to it. "A lot of shows have scripts. Following the script, he wouldn't be the same as he's in private."

Aurora sighed with regret when she heard that. "There weren't so many regulations during my time. Everyone who participated in the show was genuine and did whatever they wanted from the bottom of their hearts. It wasn't like now where the entire show was based solely on acting."

Indeed, everything Aurora said was true. Cindy knew the inside stories, which was why she couldn't get herself really involved in any television shows, movies or variety shows.

She knew that a lot of people would show a different side of themselves under the spotlight, and as a result, she couldn't really relate to the shows she watched.

Aurora continued watching for a while before turning off the phone. "Ian seemed to be asleep. You better get some rest too. I'm going back; my legs hurt from walking for so long today."

After a brief moment, Cindy stood up and walked toward the room. Ian was indeed asleep.

Perhaps he didn't get enough sleep the night before. He kept turning around last night and couldn't fall asleep, as if he was getting excited about registering their marriage today.

Cindy then sent Aurora to the door. However, she didn't immediately return to her room after closing the door, but instead leaned against it for a while.

The truth was, she wanted to announce her marriage on Facebook, but she couldn't as it would definitely cause a commotion.

All this sneaking around about her marriage was making her feel helpless.

After a while, she took out her phone to read up on some gossip on the internet.

There was nothing about Ian. All the news was covering someone else in the showbiz.

It was rare for him to have such a peaceful time. Heaving a breath of relief, she raised her leg and stepped into the house.

She wasn't tired at all, but she still laid down next to Ian.

Ian then turned around and hugged her without even opening his eyes.

Perhaps they were used to doing so. With that, Cindy closed her eyes and enjoyed her moment in his embrace.

She wasn't tired at first, but because she was already lying on the bed, she eventually fell asleep.

However, not long after she fell asleep, she was awakened by Ian's ringtone.

Turning around, she pushed Ian and said, "Your phone's ringing."

He then woke up in a daze, took his phone, and picked up the phone before checking who the caller was.

Because they were so close, Cindy could clearly hear that the person on the other end of the conversation was a woman.

That woman had a stern tone in her voice and sounded quite unhappy with him. "Ian, what are you doing? Are you busy?"
