Touching the back of his head, John replied, "If so, let it be. If you can really do that for the rest of my life, I'll concede defeat."
As long as she would be by his side for the rest of his life, it was fine for him.
After finishing the milk, the child kicked for a while before falling asleep.
Cindy went to check on him and she was surprised. "He fell asleep on his own without crying?"
"Yes, you just have to instill this habit in him. Our child sleeps by himself when he is sleepy and plays by himself when he wakes up. Occasionally, there are exceptions, but most of the time, we don't need to look after him much," Sophia answered.
Just like the previous time when they brought him over, Logan played with him for a while when he was already sleepy, making him want to play but also sleepy at the same time. That caused him to be in a bad mood and make a fuss about wanting to be carried.
"He's so obedient," Cindy said gently after hearing Sophia's words while staring at the child.
To that, Sophia replied, "Your child in the future will be obedient too. Don't worry. Children nowadays are smart."
That was true. Perhaps children in this era had more contact with newer things. Hence, they were all quite intelligent.
Cindy then returned to her seat after tidying up the child's clothes.
Meanwhile, Ian was looking at Cindy with a gaze full of tenderness.
Of course, he sensed Cindy's fondness for children. Or maybe they had reached the age when every man and woman would have some sentimental feelings toward children.
Ian liked them too. However, being as rational as he always was, he preferred to have his own child rather than play with others'.
The few of them continued chatting until late at night before ending the gathering.
Since they didn't drink alcohol today, all of them walked out by themselves.
Ian was leaving the next day; tonight's gathering was him bidding goodbye to everyone else.
Suddenly, Logan inquired, "The next time you're back here will be for your wedding banquet, right?"
Ian nodded in reply. "Yes, it should be."
He wouldn't want to return to this location if it weren't for that reason.
Though he had these friends here, the things that he needed to face here weren't easy either, including seeing Leah and Sean.
It wasn't that he was unwilling to meet Sean, but whenever they met, he would recall all the unhappy events in the past.
He figured that Sean was feeling the same toward him too. They didn't hate each other; they just didn't want to see each other.
Logan gave Ian a pat on his shoulder. "Tell me earlier if you are hosting a wedding banquet here. I can arrange the preliminary works for you in advance."
"Sure, I got it." Ian smiled.
After chatting, they all went their separate ways.
During the journey back to their hotel, Cindy was staring out the window. The nights in every city looked similar, with bright lights shining and people partying.
However, the nightlife in the city did not appeal to her. Perhaps it was because of her personality; she preferred a calm and serene life.
The next day, both Ian and Cindy woke up late. They then ordered their breakfast through room service.
Aurora waited for their breakfast to be served before joining them. After eating, they slowly packed their luggage and even played games in the room for a while before departing to the airport when the time for boarding was approaching.
The chauffeur that Logan arranged was already waiting by the hotel entrance to take them to the airport.
Though Logan appeared to be carefree, he was very attentive to his friends' needs.
When they arrived at the airport, it was still early. Hence, they found some empty seats and relaxed there.
While waiting, Cindy leaned against Ian's shoulder while scrolling through her phone.
At the same time, Ian was also scrolling his phone with his other hand wrapped around Cindy's shoulders. He appeared to be texting Logan.
Aurora, on the other hand, went on a shopping spree at nearby stores after leaving her luggage to them.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
