“What the… It really is her!” 

“Sandra, when did Noelle and Hendrix get back together?” 

“Wait. What does Hendrix even see in her?” 

The endless chatter buzzed around Sandra, each word a sharp sting that exploded in her mind. Not a single reaction or word came from her. She simply kept her eyes liked firmly on the couple ahead while her whole body trembled faintly with a mix of anger and agitation. 

On the terrace, Hendrix noticed something was off. He frowned when he noticed the group watching them. Without hesitation, he pulled Noelle into his arms, shielding her protectively. 

“Hendrix, what a coincidence!” someone in the crowd called out to him immediately. “Is this your new girlfriend? Why didn’t you tell us you got yourself a new girlfriend?” 

Tonight’s group were all young people roughly the same age as Hendrix, so no one bothered with formalities. 

Since earlier, Noelle had been facing away from the group, and now, Hendrix had her pressed against his chest. If Ruth hadn’t called out just now, no one would have guessed that the mysterious woman was actually Noelle. 

“Since everyone’s here tonight, why don’t you introduce your new girlfriend to us, Hendrix?” the crowd continued to tease. 

After a quick glance, Hendrix didn’t hide Noelle any longer. He released her from his grasp and draped his arm casually over her shoulders. 

“I trust all of you know Noelle?” 

His voice remained as calm and composed as ever, but the slight raise of his brows and the smirk on his lips made it clear he was in a good mood. 

Sandra, however, noticed something else the unusual redness of Hendrix’s lips, which was strikingly similar to the shade of lipstick Noelle was wearing. 

Even though Ruth had been the first to expose it, Hendrix’sopen acknowledgment still left the crowd momentarily stunned. 

But Noelle didn’t say much. After casually fixing her hair, she took a deep breath and greeted the group hoarsely, Hello, everyone.” 

At the same time, she subtly tried to pry Hendrix’s hand off her, but Hendrix seemed to know exactly what she was doing, so he quickly tightened his grip. 

To anyone else, it looked like the couple was engaged in a playful struggle, but to Sandra, it was nothing more than shameless flirtation. She knew exactly what Noelle was doing–she was showing off the fact that someone like Hendrix, worshiped by all, had fallen for her. 

Sandra didn’t even remember how she managed to keep herself from exploding in anger. All she could remember was the taste of blood filling the inside of her mouth when he smiled. She must have bitten her tongue.
