“No,” Noelle answered without hesitation. “I already said I think you did well, and I can understand why you did what you did. Besides, my choices weren’t all that different from yours. So, what right do I have to look down on you?”
Dylan instantly fell silent at her words. Then, he smiled bitterly. “Is that so?”
“Yeah, so-”
Noelle had been about to pull her wrist free, but Dylan tightened his grip and asked, “So, do you not hate them?”
Noelle frowned.
“I actually have a very direct way to get revenge on them. Do you want to know what it is?”
As Dylan spoke, he leaned in closer to Noelle–so much so that she could see the sinister glint in his eyes. But more than that, she saw his trembling lips.
And because she saw it so clearly, she didn’t dodge. In fact, she didn’t even shift in the slightest. She simply stood there, staring back at him with her spine perfectly straight.
Dylan naturally noticed it, yet he didn’t back away. Instead, he maintained the slight distance from Noelle as he stared at her steadily.
Noelle parted her lips slightly, about to say something when Dylan suddenly grabbed the back of her head and crushed his lips against hers.
The moment their lips touched, a stronger force suddenly surged in from behind Noelle. And in the next instant, Dylan was kicked to the ground.
Of course, one
kick wasn’t nearly enough to assuage Hendrik’s rage. He immediately lunged forward and grabbed Dylan by the collar with one hand. Without hesitation, his other fist came down like a torrent of rain as he landed punch after punch on Dylan’s face.
But at that moment, all Noelle could think about was no wonder Dylan suddenly kissed her. He had seen Hendrix coming
Noelle’s thoughts were momentarily scattered. It wasn’t until Jean’s sharp scream pierced the air that she finally snapped back to reality.
But what could Jean do? It wasn’t like she could pull Hendrix away.
Noelle had seen Hendrix lose control before–back then, Maxwell had ended up with broken ribs.
To make matters worse, Hendrix had never been able to stomach Dylan. Now that he had the opportunity, how could he possibly let him go so easily?
Jean, unable to pull Hendrix off, turned desperately to Noote. “Why are you just standing there? Get him off! Otherwise, Dylan is going to get beaten to death!”
Only then did Noelle glance at her. Then, she stepped forward and grabbed Hendrix’s hand.
At that moment, Hendrix was still kicking Dylan expressionlessly.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
