Hendrix had originally planned to let her sleep. But suddenly, a flicker of petty irritation sparked in him. Without another thought, he got out of bed. He stood there, watching her for a moment. Then, he reached out and pinched her nose shut.
Deprived of air, Noelle frowned and opened her eyes groggily.
Hendrix was leaning over her.
"What the hell are you doing?" Noelle, still half-asleep, immediately swatted his hand away.
After watching her for a moment, Hendrix asked, "Noelle, have you ever thought about what you would have done if I had really died this time?
Noelle lay there, meeting his gaze head-on. She was fully wide awake now. She stared at Hendrix for a moment before answering bluntly, "I'd find someone else to remarry right away."
The words had barely left her lips when Hendrix's eyes widened slightly. He looked at her in disbelief, as if questioning whether he had just heard her wrong.
But Noelle didn't spare him another glance. She turned over, about to go back to sleep, when Hendrix grabbed her hand.
"Who do you plan on remarrying?"
"Anyone. Didn't you say it yourself? As long as I'm alive, that's what matters."
"I told you to stay alive—I didn't say you could remarry!"
"Raising a kid alone is exhausting. If I find a good man and remarry, wouldn't that make things easier? You wouldn't want me to struggle too much, right?"
After Noelle finished speaking, Hendrix found himself momentarily speechless. For a split second, he even felt like she had a point. But he quickly snapped out of it and tightened his grip on her hand.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
