Nicole paused, but she didn't turn around. Instead, she went back to her office.

She was a tough girl. She wouldn't be knocked down by Lambert. If she was knocked down by Lambert, it meant that she was knocked down by a mistress. She didn't allow it. Lambert wanted her to leave, but she still didn't want to leave. Even if she wanted to leave, she had to go in a splendid way, instead of running away embarrassedly as if she had been driven out!

Because of the conversation on Friday night, Nicole was in a bad mood on the whole weekend. There was no activities on Sunday, so she just slept at home. Early in the morning, she was woken up by the noise in the living room. She ran out of the bedroom in slippers and saw her brother Layton looking for something to eat in the living room. The door of the fridge was still open, and he didn't want to close it even though the cold air was leaking out.

Seeing that Nicole came out, Layton Lin said to her in coquettish voice, "Nicole, why is there no food at home? I'm starving to death! You know I come back only once a month, and I'm coming back today. Why don't you prepare something to eat in advance?"

Layton was a junior student in the J High School. The J High School was a private school, it was not good but the tuition was very expensive.
