Chapter 209
Seeing a stranger enter their space, the two little kittens flattened their ears and hissed at Shakira to protect themselves.
Shakira closed the door behind her and slowly approached them.

Shakira said, “Hey, little kitties, it’s me.” When she was about two feet away, she took out the syringe filled with goat milk that she had prepared in the morning. She said, “You haven’t had milk for two days. Would you like some?”
She knew the kittens were cautious, so she didn’t get too close. Instead, she extended the syringe and squeezed some goat milk onto their noses.
The two kittens caught a whiff of the familiar milk scent and changed their attitudes from defensive to obedient. They meowed at Shakira and even tiptoed closer to the syringe.
Shakira chuckled, “You little gluttons!”
She held the syringe with both hands and gently pushed the tip into the kittens‘ mouths and let them gulp down the milk. Before long, each kitten had finished about three syringes. It was roughly thirty milliliters of goat milk in total for each.
The kittens recognized Shakira as the milk hero from the last couple of days. They wagged their tails and meowed as they rubbed against her. They acted cute and tried to get more milk.
Shakira scooped them up, felt their round little bellies, and said, “No more. Your tummies won’t handle it.”
Shakira played with them for a while until someone knocked on the door. She put them back in their den outside the window, tossed them a ball of yarn, and turned to answer the door, “Come in.”
She thought it was an early–arrived patient. Shakira’s expression became cold when she saw who it was.
It was Yvette. She dressed up and put on makeup today. Yvette said, “Dr. Lonely Bird, do you remember me?” Seeing Shakira, Yvette couldn’t hide her excitement.
Yvette said, “You invited me to attend your experiment, but I didn’t pass the health check, so we couldn’t work together.”
Felix walked in behind Yvette in a white lab coat and tried to maintain a composed demeanor but was unable to hide his excitement and admiration. He finally saw the mysterious Lonely Bird!
His family members mentioned that Lonely Bird was a young woman, which he found hard to believe. After he saw her, he didn’t find any inconsistency at all. When she stood there, she looked aloof and independent, like a lone star in the sky.
Yvette and Felix were obsequious today. It was in stark contrast to the harsh words they had towards Shakira just a few days ago. It was ironic,
Shakira took out a bottle of alcohol and disinfected her desk and chair without looking up at them. Shakira said, “I remember you.”
Yvette didn’t expect Lonely Bird to be so indifferent towards her Yvette felt like she was putting her warm face against a cold shoulder. However, to earn Felix’s gratitude, Yvette had no choice but to force a smile.
Yvette said, “Dr. Lonely Bird, this is my older brother, Felix. He’s also a guest on this show. He has admired your medical talents for many years and is eager to work with you.”
Introduced by Yvette, Felix took a step forward, extended his hand earnestly towards Shakira, and said, “Hello, Dr. Lonely Bird. I’m Felix.”
Shakira put down the bottle of alcohol, glanced at Felix, and said. “There’s nothing about me worth admiring.”

Felix said, “Dr. Lonely Bird, you’re too humble. Even Matthew praised you for having an extraordinary talent in medicine that’s rare in a century.”
Shakira said casually and asked them to leave, “He just boasted. Is there anything else? If not, I need to start my appointments.”
Felix didn’t know what he could do. Yvette looked around the office. Suddenly, Yvette pointed at the window and claimed, “They’re still here!” Felix noticed as well and pulled a long face.
Yvette stepped forward and said in a concerned but reproachful tone, “Dr. Lonely Bird, my sister is responsible for cleaning your office.
“She left the kittens here and disturbed your consultations. Please forgive us. We’ll clear out the mess immediately…”
Before Yvette could finish speaking, Felix came up to grab the kittens. Shakira narrowed her eyes. In a flash, two silver needles flew from Shakira’s hand and landed on Felix’s wrist.
Felix felt a sudden tingling in his arm, turned looked at Shakira in disbelief, and said, “Dr. Lonely Bird
Shakira’s voice was colder than before. She said, “Get out. I’ll warn you only once.
Yvette was terrified, pulled the stiff Felix to leave, and said, “Felix, let’s leave here!”
In the hallway, Yvette was shocked to see the needles on Felix’s wrist.
She said, “What should we do? Will this affect you to shoot the show? Should we tell Mr. Jones?” Yvette had worked hard to get an opportunity to demonstrate herself on the show. She couldn’t let a small issue ruin it!
Felix came back to his senses, breathed heavily, pulled out the silver needles, and said, “No need. I’ll be fine soon
Felix was filled with uncontrollable excitement. Even from a distance, Lonely Bird casually inserted the needles into his acupoint with perfect accuracy.
It was not too deep or too shallow. She had such great skill. No wonder he had admired her as an idol for so long!
Felix was driven by a desire for strength and didn’t mind Lonely Bird’s indifference toward him. He just reflected on what he might have done wrong to make Lonely Bird annoyed. Could it be that Lonely Bird liked the kittens?
Felix was lost in thought. Shakira had begun her consultations. Just as it turned 8 a.m., a middle–aged woman with a shopping basket walked in.
When the middle–aged woman entered and saw Shakira all covered up, the middle–aged woman felt confused and stepped back to check the sign on the door.
Shakira opened today’s waiting list and said, “Susan Wilson, please come in.”
Susan was surprised and hesitated to step in. Then she complained to Shakira, “Are you the famous doctor who’s skilled in traditional medicine?”
Shakira nodded and said, “Yes, it’s me. What’s the matter with you, Mrs. Wilson?”
Ignoring the question, Susan shouted towards the hallway.
“Oh, my God. What has happened to Haruca Hospital? They have hired such a weird person to treat us. Even her appointments are so hard to get! Isn’t this a waste of our hard–earned money?”
Susan’s words caught the attention of other patients waiting outside. Several of them from different departments peeked in. When they saw Shakira behind the consultation desk, they started dishing out criticism.
