Chapter 97
“This isn’t a return gift; it’s clearly repaying kindness with malice Hearing someone talking outside the corridor, Shakira nearly jumped up. She hurriedly rushed to gather the rose petals off the bed. However, she searched the entire room and couldn’t find a trash bin!
The mechanical sound of a wheelchair was seemingly close behind the door. Shakira quickly stuffed the rose petals into her clothes and dashed to the bathroom. She locked the bathroom door with a loud bang.
Walter pushed open the bedroom door and heard the commotion. A fleeting moment of fierceness flashed in his eyes, but when he saw the small backpack on the cabinet, his expression softened. He almost forgot about Shakira moving in. He approached the bathroom door, where the sound of running water was heard. “Shakira?”
“Ah, I’m washing up. Just a moment.”
Walter returned to the bedroom, noticing the wrinkled bed set that looked like someone had rolled around on it. He couldn’t help but glance at the bathroom. “This woman, acting indifferent on the surface, must be thrilled, rolling around on my bed while I’m away. Is she overjoyed?‘ A confident, pleased smile crept onto his handsome face as he tidied the bed. Just as he picked up a pillow, two items unexpectedly slipped out…
In the bathroom, Shakira, painfully sacrificing one of her old clothes, stuffed all the petals into the trash bin. ‘If Walter sees this, he’ll surely laugh at me; he might even think it was my idea! Shakira shook her head, removed her clothes, and sank into the bathtub.
The bathroom amenities in Walter’s place are way more comfortable than my little room; the massage function is too good. Affer soaking for a while, Shakira finally got up to change. When she reached for the hanger, her hand touched something silky and thin. Unfolding it, she found a sheer, sensual spaghetti strap dress. Shakira froze, “Why are there more gifts…?” After some hesitation, she wrapped herself in a men’s bathrobe that reached her ankles and walked out.
Walter glanced at her, his eyes deepening. His voice carried a hint of hoarseness, “All done?”
“Um… I’ll get you a new bathrobe.” Shakira felt a little uneasy, avoiding his gaze. Walter’s penetrating stare followed her until he entered the bathroom on his own. By the time he finished washing up, Shakira had already changed into her own ordinary sleepwear, a simple top and long pants.
Walter silently got into bed from the other side. Seeing him act so naturally, Shakira didn’t feel shy either; she lay down and covered herself with the blanket.
However, with someone else in bed, she found it hard to fall asleep, tossing and turning. During one of her many turns, the man beside her suddenly grabbed her arm and pulled her close,
Shakira gasped, her body tensing up. “Walter, what are you doing?!” A soft yellow light remained lit at the head of the bed, casting a warm glow on the man’s handsome face, adding a layer of ambiguity.
He tightened his grip, their bodies almost impossibly close. “You’ve been anticipating this all night, haven’t you?” Shakira’s eyes widened, her hands pushing against his chest. His bathrobe loosened slightly during the struggle, and her hands landed on the tattoo on his chest, the man’s intense body heat and powerful heartbeat were hard to ignore.
“Who, who was anticipating this?!”
“Heh, playing hard to get?” Walter took out two items from the bedside cabinet. “Did you think hiding them under the pillow would keep me from knowing?”
What is this…” Shakira picked it up and nearly blacked out. A baby onesie and a tiny book titled “A Couple’s Basic Knowledge Guide,” containing pictures that made her blush instantly.
Walter looked at her with an expression of confirmation, “Do you still want to deny it?”

Chapter 97
“I really want to deny it, al–no, wait, this has nothing to do with me, I didn’t prepare this!” Shakira stammered, trying to clear her name, explaining about the rose petals and her sleepwear as well.
Seeing the sleepwear she had changed out of, Walter frowned, “Really not you?”
“I’m genuinely innocent; I never expected them to be so bold…”
Walter fell silent, but his expression clearly showed he was not pleased. Shakira quickly declared her alignment with him, “My heart is with you, young master! They really went too far!”
Walter looked at her with disdain, “Who’s on the same side as you?” His gaze was filled with deep resentment.
Shakira was perplexed, not knowing where she went wrong again. She thought for a moment and then sat on the bed, deciding to stop resisting. “Actually, even if you want to satisfy… that need, you didn’t have to let me move in, right?”
Walter frowned at her, “What do you mean?”
