Chapter 21
Kevin deliberately intercepted Sophia to make her suspicious.
“Mrs. Yancey, Ms. Yancey values her privacy a lot. It wouldn’t be appropriate to have someone treat her without her consent, would it?”
Sophia glared at Kevin angrily and retorted, “If you possess exceptional medical skills and can cure Julia, I won’t need to seek help from others.”
Her words implied that Kevin not only lacked the ability but also hindered others from saving Juliana, indicating his narrow–mindedness.
Kevin appeared embarrassed and dodged.
Jonathan sensed that something was amiss and asked coldly, “Dr. Fowler, do you have anything to say?”
“N–No… Nothing. I have to go attend to something,” Kevin stammered hurriedly, almost fleeing the scene.
Sophia frowned. “Why is Dr. Fowler acting so strangely today? I asked him to provide Professor Foster with the medical records yesterday, and he seemed quite reluctant.”
Jonathan looked in the direction where Kevin had left and remarked, “Dr. Fowler does indeed seem off. Could he have done something to Julia?”
“He doesn’t have the guts. Go ask him.” Sophia pointed out. “Okay.” Hearing that, Jonathan nodded and left.
Jonathan had just reached the entrance of Kevin’s consultation room when he overheard him muttering to himself.
“What should I do? What should I do? It’s going to be discovered very soon,” muttered Kevin.
As soon as he finished speaking, the ajar door to the

consultation room was pushed open.
“Dr. Fowler, discovered what?” Jonathan questioned.
Kevin pretended to be scared and stammered, “No… Nothing.”
“Tell the truth, or I’ll ensure you’ll never practice medicine again!” Jonathan threatened angrily.
“Mr. Yancey, it’s really nothing,” Kevin repeated.
Jonathan grabbed Kevin’s collar and roared, “Say it!”
Kevin’s expression tensed up as he explained, “I–I cheated on my wife, and she may have found out.”
“Who is the person you had an affair with? Why didn’t you want someone else to examine Julia?”
He was worried that Kevin had done something harmful to Juliana when she was ill.
Kevin understood Jonathan’s implication and quickly retrieved some photos from his phone to show him.
“Mr. Yancey, she is a nurse at our hospital. I don’t want Professor Foster to examine Ms. Yancey for a different reason.”
“What reason?” Jonathan asked in an interrogative tone.
“You will know when the results of Professor Foster’s test come
out.”
Jonathan saw that Kevin didn’t explain further and didn’t ask again.
Half an hour later, Philip completed all the tests for Juliana.
Half of the test results were available immediately, while others. required further analysis and testing, with results expected in no more than two hours for urgent cases.
Philip called Sophia and Jonathan to the temporary office provided by the hospital.
He angrily pushed the test reports toward them. “Are you
kidding me? Juliana isn’t sick at all!”

Without hesitation, Sophia retorted, “That’s impossible!”
“How could I not be aware if Julia isn’t sick.” Sophia stared at Philip in disbelief.
Philip found several sets of test data, flipped to the end, and pointed at the conclusion, saying, “Take a look for yourselves. If you don’t believe me, you can ask Dr. Fowler over for a confirmation.”
Although there were still many test results that were pending, those already available were enough to prove that Juliana wasn’t sick.
The test results were all straightforward and easy to understand, and Sophia could naturally comprehend them.
However, she couldn’t believe what she saw.
“Jonathan, go get Dr. Fowler here,” Sophia urged.
When Jonathan remembered what Kevin had said before, a sense of unease welled up in his heart.
Within minutes, he came back, and Kevin followed closely, his head lowered, displaying clear signs of guilt.
Philip went straight to the point and said, “Dr. Fowler, even if your medical skills are inferior to mine, you should still be able to diagnose whether Ms. Yancey has a blood disorder, right?”
Kevin’s face turned ashen, but he remained obstinate. “Professor Foster, of course, I can diagnose it. Ms. Yancey has been ill for three years, and she has been under my care all along.”
“Are you sure she’s still ill now? Before you answer, take a look at these test results,” Philip said, pushing the reports toward Kevin.
Kevin hesitated to accept the reports lying before him. “Ms. Yancey’s condition improved significantly after her last episode, so it’s not impossible for her to suddenly get better
now.”

Even Sophia and Jonathan had their doubts about what he had just said, let alone Philip.
Philip sneered, “Dr. Fowler, you might deceive the laymen with that statement, but I won’t be easily fooled by something so basic.”
He placed the reports back on his desk and continued, “Once the blood test results are ready, the detailed data will reveal Ms. Yancey’s real health condition. Are you planning to tell the truth only then?”
Seeing that Kevin remained silent, Sophia, losing her patience, slammed her hand on the desk.
“Dr. Fowler, speak up!”
Kevin, taken aback and shaking, blurted out the truth, “Mrs. Yancey, in fact, Ms. Yancey’s blood disorder was cured a year ago.”
Jonathan grabbed Kevin’s white coat, his gaze turning
dangerous as he stared him down. “Do you realize what you’re saying?”
“I do. I have evidence. Please wait for a moment,” Kevin replied.
With that, he rushed to his consultation room and returned
with all the evidence.
Not only did he possess the medical report from a year ago that could substantiate Juliana’s complete recovery, but he also possessed a recording of her threatening him to fabricate a medical case.
He had long foreseen that this day might come, so he made preparations in advance.
Sophia and Jonathan were left incredulous by what they had witnessed and heard.
They found it unfathomable that Juliana had been feigning illness for a whole year, subjecting them to constant worry.

Philip dispelled the tension in the office with his voice.
“Ms. Yancey can be so vicious. She evidently recuperated but consistently feigned serious illness, coercing people into providing her with a blood transfusion of at least 400 ml each time, almost every month. Is this not a matter of life and death?”
He then turned his gaze toward Kevin and asked, “Where has all this donated blood gone?”
“I used my connections to covertly store the blood for Ms. Yancey in the hospital’s blood bank,” Kevin admitted.
He then proceeded to play the earlier conversation between him and Juliana.
“Mrs. Yancey, I didn’t want to do this either, but Ms. Yancey has a hold over me, and I had to compromise.”
Sophia’s expression soured. She raised her hand and slapped Kevin in the face.
“Jerk, I placed so much trust in you, and you resorted to such actions!”
In fact, what she found even more difficult to believe was that the obedient and well–behaved Juliana could be so scheming behind their backs.
Jonathan, too, was disheartened by that revelation, as the image of his perfect younger sister crumbled.
Philip’s mission was only half completed, and he had no interest in witnessing the deep–seated animosity among the three of them.
“You can resolve this matter among yourselves. I must attend a medical records analysis meeting.”
Sophia immediately protested, “No, you can’t use Julia’s medical records for analysis!”
Despite her disappointment in Juliana, she didn’t want her to

be humiliated.

“Why not? This was what we had agreed before, and the medical records have already been sent out. There’s no way to change now. Moreover, cases like Juliana’s, which serves as a cautionary example, must be exposed to alert healthcare
professionals.” Philip stipulated.
Jonathan threatened, “Professor Foster, you’d better think twice before making a decision. You don’t want to provoke the Yancey family.”
“I’m just a passerby in Quilton. I’m really not afraid of the Yancey family!”
With those words, Philip gathered Juliana’s medical records and prepared to leave.
Jonathan intercepted him once more and asked firmly, “Are you here on behalf of Cecilia to expose Julia?”
“Yes!” Philip nodded.
“She is as vicious as ever!” Jonathan said with a dark frown.
That statement shattered Philip’s preconceptions.
“Are you serious? Clearly, it’s Juliana who’s vicious, pretending to be sick all this time and exploiting Cecilia’s kindness by taking her blood. Why do you claim Cecilia is vicious?”
Jonathan snorted coldly. “Julia made a mistake, and we won’t take her side. We will also compensate Cecilia. She didn’t need to resort to these tactics to harm Julia.”
Philip chuckled in exasperation.
In all his years, it was the first time he had encountered such brazenness.
With no common ground for discussion, he had no desire to continue the conversation and brushed past Jonathan.
However, Jonathan stopped Philip once again. “I will not permit you to cause harm to Julia. Otherwise, I will not hesitate

to be forceful with you!”
Philip displayed no fear at all. He casually retrieved his phone, giving it a subtle shake.
“I’ve been recording all along. If something happens to me, you’ll be the prime suspect, and the recordings will also be exposed,” he said, raising an eyebrow as he looked at Jonathan, signaling him to get out of the way.
Sophia pulled Jonathan away and asked, “Professor Foster, please tell us, what are your terms?”
“I don’t want your money. It’s tainted!” Philip responded expressionlessly.
“What exactly did Cecilia offer you to assist her in this manner?” Sophia glared at him ferociously.
“You should direct that question to Cecilia. Perhaps if you implore her, she’ll show mercy and spare Julia.”
After Philip finished speaking, he checked the time and said, “You have ten more minutes to convince Cecilia.”
